NICOLAS Cage says he wants to start playing "insane" characters.
Speaking in a break from filming in the States, the actor has insisted his acting choices are like a form of art.
"You can think of film acting as other art forms that are abstract like jazz music or abstract painting," he said.
"One of the ways to do it is to play a character that is really high on drugs like Bad Lieutenant, another way is to play characters that are from somewhere else and then it's all bets are off like Drive Angry," he explained.
Nic jokingly added: "Another way is to play someone that is just completely insane and that's next!"

Oh CRIPES! I just spit my coffee out! ON the frickin screen, mind you!
Ya know....it must be a hoot to hang around Nic on some Sunday morning when he's all relaxed and being goofy while trying out new expressions for some scene he has to play. The man's face is so expressive....those eyes....and that wayward eyebrow he can direct into play with such ease. Not to mention, the expressions he can force out of his lower lip....Heck...and they say Jim Carrey has a face of rubber? I think Nic can give him a run for his money in that department when he sets his mind to it.

Lol! *wipes the coffee off Peter Loew's deliciously insane face*
I agree with you White Fay! Insane or otherwise, Nic is the master of facial expression and body language in a performance! jim Carrey in a different way!
I can truly think of no other actor who could have played Peter Loew....can anyone else?! Not just insane but also very tragic. Noone can blend darkness and humour in the same way. Exciting to think there may be more totally off the wall characters in Nic's future repertoire!
