With the DvD release approaching, how about a litte Sorcerer's Apprentice music magic?
You can't really talk about the soundtrack from the movie, without talking about the classic Fantasia segment from the original The Sorcerer's Apprentice, with the music composed by Dukas.
The actors, filmmakers and composer had quite some shoes to fill in the movie!
Here are Jon Turteltaub, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jay Baruchel talking about just that:
The first 17 seconds of this segment is my favourite part of the entire soundtrack because it is so euphoric and coupled with one of my favourite scenes of the movie, when Balthazar casts the Merlin Circle, it gives me a total rush !
Thank you for this post, Lula, so nice to have all the videos here together. Wonderful music, that segment is euphoric, as you say, and as someone commented at you tube epic!!! I really can't wait to see it again and hear the music with it. It is so hard to remember everything from the theatre, it all gets a little blurry. It would be a great soundtrack to buy too.
Well in time to fill your Christmas stocking Lady Trueheart!
The DVD is out 30 November in America, 6 December here in the uk. I have both on pre order! Agree the soundtrack is a definite must buy too!
By the way...does that first few seconds of the Merlin Circle section of the soundtrack I just posted remind anyone of that climactic string section in The Beatles song 'A Day In A Life' ?!?!
