I really enjoyed this interview with Claire Foy, where she talks about meeting Nic and reveals more about her character and her character's relationship with Behman!
Nicolas Cage is a STAR..he is a star. he's so enigmatic and so kind of shiny that he is a proper star...I wasn't necessarily nervous about meeting Nic but I think I felt like it was his film, I thought if he doesn't like me then I'm buggered! (laughs) so I was a bit like 'oh god it could all go hideously wrong' and then when i first met him he was just like you know, "I'm really pleased you're on the film" am I was like, "ah thanks" and he's such a lovely wonderful, wonderful man.
Unfortunately, I watched one of the behind the scenes clips and now I wish I hadn't, although it was interesting to see how they do things. Really I feel pretty sure acting would not have been for me. Maybe stage, I used to like doing plays when in school, that was fun and I guess I was okay at it, but the movie thing looks kind of frustrating and monotonous, also how strange it must be to have a camera in your face whike emoting.
She comes across as very honest and natural, it is a good energy, I agree Meg!
so, you are our budding actress! some of the best began with their school play don'tyaknow!!!
Ooh which behind the scenes? the ones I posted in the movie chamber? I enjoyed them immensely and didn't think they gave too much away.... I do know exactly what you mean though...it can detract from the magic of the experience. Season Of The Witch becomes even more appealing the more I see of it though!! I am really so looking forward to the relationship between 'The Girl' (is this the actual character's name?) and Behman!
They are at the same site Claire's interview is at. They're all behind the scenes stuff, not mixed in with Nic's interview. A lot of the same stuff though.
Here is another interview with Claire Foy! Only a tiny Nic mention here though, but funny!!
I found her comments on keeping a low profile interesting! Funny how some 'celebs' are given that "luxury" ( it's not a luxury it's a right but that is how most people consider it ) more than others?!
She may be my new favourite actoress, although I haven't seen her act yet, lol!
Upstairs Downstairs redo, yes, can't wait to see it!
It is interesting how some actors can keep it low, I read an interview with Naomi Watts and she said she rarely gets bothered. I think it is because she doesn't put herself out there at events and all the things celebs who court attention do. And some just don't have as distinctive a look as Nic.
Nic is in a class by himself, or with a rarified few anyway, he cannot stay under the radar, too recognizable and his name sells site views, so they court news of him. And i really think people just love him and get excited to see him. I wonder if he would give it up for anonymity.
I would think that he has to tire of the constant pressures that come with the territory of being a 'star' but that, being a Capricorn, he would find it very difficult to live like a normal "Joe". Also....most artists usually have very large egos and thrive on the recognition. I'd say it's a double edged sword for anyone in the limelight.

For what it's worth, I don't think it is Nic who should or shouldn't give it up for anonymity, rather it is the culture of celebrity that needs to give itself up so that there is less intrusion into their lives! You can still admire and appreciate the work of an artist without needing to invade their privacy at all, we are living proof!
