When I saw one of the films showing at the festival was called "Desert Flower" I had to giggle.....isn't that what Nic says to Holly Hunter when he first meets her in the movie RAISING ARIZONA....that she is a "desert flower, that's what she is"? LOL! Anyhooo....cool that there will be an Evening with Nic Cage....on Feb 25th. Anyone going to be in the area?

thank you for posting lula & cristina!! slightly puzzled...does this will be the first time that Sir Cage get the "red-carpet treatment" at Sedona Film Festival??

Lol! cool info about the energy vortexes too Lady Fay...Nic better stand himself into a hotspot and tap into the earth....hope he's wearing his pointy shoes, better for conducting the current...power up!!
I don't know if it's the first time Nic is getting the 'red carpet' treatment at the Sedona Film Festival but I do know it's not the first time he's been to Sedona. Many years ago it was being written all over the place that he was building a house in Sedonna but that he changed his mind mid-way. So, I'd say he prob is already aware of the vortexes and energy that is said to be there.......which then makes sense being his interest in Ley lines....

Although the stars of the Sedona International Film Festival are the movies, celebrities and filmmakers who attend each year, organizers have always promoted the festival while acknowledging that not everyone is going to watch movies for a week.
"We're not only a film festival, we're a destination festival," said Patrick Schweiss, the festival's executivedirector. "It gives you a great place to be. You can see many, many films and still have a great outdoor experience in Sedona."
Nicolas Cage, Gary Sinise and Frances Fisher are among the stars expected to attend the festival, which will feature more than 145 films and runs Sunday through Feb. 27.
In the special event "An Evening With Nicolas Cage," the actor will discuss his many film roles over the years, as well as the movie he directed, "Sonny" (2002), starring James Franco, Brenda Blethyn and Mena Suvari.
"He really wanted to showcase a film where it wasn't him acting," Schweiss said.
Comedian Jonathan Winters will receive a lifetime achievement award at the festival. Comedian Rita Rudner will present the award. She and her husband, Martin Bergman, will also be on hand for the screening of her new film, "Thanks."
Rip Torn also will receive a lifetime achievement award.
The red rocks will take center stage tonight during the premiere of "Sedona," which stars Frances Fisher, Barry Corbin and Beth Grant and was shot in and around the city. It's described as a feel-good movie about a series of calamities that leads to miracles. The movie also will be shown Monday and Feb. 27.
The festival drew about 9,000 visitors last year, and more are expected this year. Most films will be screened at the Harkins Sedona 6. Some will be shown at Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa and the new 750-seat theater at Sedona Performing Arts Center at Red Rock High School.
"It's a brand-new, beautiful, beautiful theater," Schweiss said.
that's cool! Thanks, but not much notice, today's the 19th! Everything's maybe booked by now, I know when they have an event around here, all the hotels, in the next two states, are booked up. Well that's when Obama came to town, that's different, the celebrity, probably even more so! The last big event we attended, was at Madison Square Garden. We'll probably wait till he comes to the east coast.. Anyway, luck and success, to Nic!
Big grin on my face watching to this, I really hope NT3 happens too! I also hope we get more information about Nic at the festival, one little clip is just tantalizing!
Great find again, Lady T! Maybe one day if and when Nic writes his biography, he'll share with us the genesis of his 'awakening' while in New Orleans. :)
