Academy Award  winning actor Nicolas Cage will be honored on the forth day of the 6th Annual Los Angeles   Italia Film, Fashion and Art Fest, on Thursday, Feb 24, 7:00 p.m. at the Mann Chinese 6 Theatre, it was announced today by Festival Founder and Executive Producer Pascal Vicedomini.

Singled out for his commitment in promoting the Italian-American heritage, Nicolas Cage will be presented with  The 2011 L.A. Italia   Excellence Award  by noted Italian director Marco Bellocchio.

Previous honorees include director Quentin Tarantino and actor Sylvester Stallone.

Yes, that is odd. I had a look at the program on-line and couldn't see anything there about Nic.

Nevertheless, congratulations to Nic, aand I hope we see some NICe pics from the event!

Still finding it very strange how quiet this event is being if it really happened?
here is a link showing photos of arrivals to the Awards honouring Nic, but he isn't in them!

I made a polite enquiry on the LA italia site, mentioning the original link where the news was circulated, i have concerns about it' accuray seeing as it had the incorrect date for the premiere, but no reply. But the link hasb't been pulled either....

We don't know if the event did or didn't happen yet Tues, we were going on one report that was repeated across the net on other sites, but is not backed up on the LA Itlaia website. That to me indicates the origianl report was incorrect, for somethig as high prople as that with such a major star as Nic would surely be mentioned on the official site? I contacted both the original site and LA Italia for clarification, but no response still! flowerface

That's right Tues, this topic is from last week and the article got the wrong date for the premiere anyway...but i would still love to know if the article was accurate and if Nic received this award or not, wouldn't you? flowerface

I too hope that this is true and Nick got the award. Sad that this was so mix-up but maybe we may find out soon. Lets hope any way.
