Not the whole scene, Lula, thank you, I love this part! Note the hair slick pause, so cool.
Although I always think the dialogue a bit silly I absolutely love Cher and Nic together, fantastic chemistry, one of his best female co-stars, I think.
You're welcome meg! I have always loved the scratching of the cheek after Loretta calls Ronnie a wolf for the first time, it's funny, cute and clever. something modern fairytale about this part I think! love it too
Why, that is perfect, Lula, it is like a modern fairy tale. I never thought of that before but it so fits with the story and dialogue, wow! No wonder |I love this movie. You should write a review with that premise.
Nic did try to play Ronnie as the monster from Beauty and The Beast Lady True! "I almost got fired for trying to play my character - scripted as a young, romantic Italian guy - as the monster from Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast."
I guess I had read that before but forgotten it, Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite fairy tales too. Interesting, so then perhaps he felt ugly and deformed because of his hand and his history and Loretta transforms him with her loving acceptance?
Though in this movie it has always seemed to me that it is Loretta who transforms, to accept the person she was hiding within her; and that it is Ronnie who instigates that change, with his sincere love of her unique beauty, both inner and outer.
