Really good interview with Nic here! So interesting to hear that Nic is taking some downtime and getting into reading more poetry. Sounds like excellent downtime to me! And we have many books of poetry in our castle library, Sir Nicolas! (and he looks so handsome too)
Early in 2012, Nicolas Cage will be returning as Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, but this time he'll be playing Ghost Rider as well in what's bound to be a wild revamping of Marvel's supernatural hero by Crank directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.
SuperHeroHype had a chance to sit down with Cage before the Sony panel in Hall H, which you can read about here, and we learned about why he decided to come back to the role and what was involved with playing both sides of the chopper-riding hellspawn.
Check out what he said in the video interview below, and you can also watch our previous video interviews with directors Neveldine/Taylor and actor Johnny Whitworth here and here.
I just saw this too Meg! wow..I love this one because Nic looks just so really relaxed and himself, and it is by far the best interview so far, in my opinion.
Great to hear him talking about playing the Ghost Rider himself...and his process, how he really got inside the character...awesome. that really is Nouveau ShamaNIC in action, the shamans would take on the form of animals. This whole movie sounds way deeper.
I hope Nic enjoys his down time and walking and books don't sound boring to me! maybe he should try meditaion..especially in nature...for me that is the unltimate for creativity because you just returne to being this wide open space for the infinite to arise through. enough said and now i will shut up!
I will embed the vid in your post Meg and thanks for posting!
Thank you, Lula, I edited a captured picture into the post also, sigh.
I agree, best interview so far, I think the one-on-one interviews are better for getting more insight, at least it seems so to me. It does sound deeper, I agree, and the cobra and compass mentions, plus the p***ing and vomiting fire aspects, and Johnny Blaze and the GR himself fighting each other, wow!!! How awesome will that be!!
I think I may have to change my movie in the 'which one are you looking forward to most' post!
I'm with you,all the new Ghost Rider interviews are epic, but this is definitely the best one.I'm glad that with Neveldine and Taylor Nic had a chance to achieve more dark, intense, risky and abstract level of portraying the character.I am now seriously getting into the GR buzz.I absolutely love what Nic says about creating that 'wyrd' way of moving, that cobra thing, everything. And I also love how relaxed and enthuziastic at the same time Nic is when talking.
And by the way Nic's leisure time doesn't sound boring ,it sounds perfects to me.Reading poetry is a perfect way to stimulate your imaginationWhat an awesome interview, thank you!
I've never been that much into poetry myself, even though I did win third place in a potery contest that one of my local libraries had held one time, but if Nic likes it, that's fine with me!
