I was delighted to stumble upon this article today, especially in light of our recent CAGEALOT FILM CLUB discussion on Vampire's Kiss!

The best artists and their art are often misunderstood... and Vampire's Kiss, in my opinion, was way ahead of it's time, incredibly deep... not just content but in texture and style ..and showcases the (literally in my view) subiime talent of an actor who is, an artistic genius.

I posted this here and not in the movies section because I think it makes a general point about Nic as an actor and also about how is is perceived or, more accurately, how he is not truly perceived.

It is a good article, amusing too, and probably that author should join our forum because she/he obviously gets why we love Nic here. I enjoyed the references to the interviews with Screen Junkies, some truly inspired quotes there!

Great read and I view Vampire's Kiss as Nicolas Cage's best acting performance in any film he has been in. I was amazed at the fact he was still so young and picked such a brave and bold choice in Vampire's Kiss. His agent actually didn't want him to take the part and he pulled out of the role for a while and Judd Nelson was primed for the role. Nic came to his senses and decided to play Peter Loew. CLC
