Charlie Kaufman's Frank Or Francis, starring Nicolas Cage, is possibly heading to Pittsburgh for a February shoot next year!

He expects to begin scouting for locations in the next month and start shooting “Frank or Francis” in early February, estimating an eight- to nine-week production schedule.
Adding it’s “impossible” to shoot anywhere these days without tax incentives, Bregman described Pittsburgh as the right place to shoot aesthetically, and he said it has good crews, along with its tax credit program.

Finally! I am really curious, if they distribute that movie the same, as they did and do with Trespass or Justice, or if they distribute that properly as it deserves! I know, they didn`t even begin filming yet, but, I`m really curious about it!
And, it`s great, that the article mentioned Nic, but they didn`t speak of his part. Would be interesting, to get more informations about his role in that movie.

I am sooooooooooooo happy that Nic is doing a comedy!  I love him in comedies.  He has such great comedic timing.  I think Jack Black and Steve Carrell are great.  Just watched Steve in "Crazy, Stupid, Love"... He was very good!

This is another independent movie so I'm sure the marketing budget won't be huge on it but hey.... WE KNOW ABOUT IT SO WE'LL SPREAD THE WORD!!

Side Note:  I just watched "Idiot Brother" and I thought it was ... well... silly... I'm expecting big things from "Frank or Francis" seeing as though you have Nic (best actor in the universe) and clever Black and Carrell starring!!  Should be amazing!

I am excited about this movie too, the synergy of talents here is sizzling! I am happy to see Nic in a comedy too, but I think I am more excited that it will be  satire, and a MUSICAL too let's not forget!!!!

Steve Carell was hilarious in Crazy Stupid Love! starry

 OMG!!!  I totally missed the musical part!  How genius!  You know, Nic has an amazing singing voice.  How cool would it be if we heard him sing again!!!

I love his singing voice! And, I enjoy every scene, where he sings, like in "Family man" or "Captain Corellis`s Mandolin" or in "Wild at heart"! It would truly be awesome, if we hear him singing again in "Frank or Francis"! multicolourlove

a BIG WOW! I'm looking forward to this new film work as well. I love Nick in comedies too and he does sing well. Hope he does some singing in this film as well. As to Steve Carell I love him in "Get Smart" movie as Maxwell Smart. It will be interested to see how well both Steve and Nick will do together in this film. Nick is great with other actors in his films. I love his movie, "Trapped in Paradise". Also I live very close to Pittsburgh, Pa. Only an hour away from me. Gee wonder if I can find out where they are shooting this at so I may go watch it some where close by. I know I'm not allow to get on their set, but I would love to see Nick just showing up there to act. Amazing.

I too am looking forward to the chemistry between all the confirmed actors of this movie, and there is every chance we will be treated to the dulcet tones of our fave actor, because recently Charlie Kaufman confirmed 'Frank Or Francis' is an 'all out Musical'!

Okay, so January, the month where Nic was to begin shooting "Frank or Francis", has come and gone... Has anyone heard if filming actually began?

I know Nic has been taking some well-deserved quality time out for he and his family so I wasn't sure if we missed something.

No news yet Gina (I think it was February?) but I am sure Nic fans everywhere will be all over it like butter on a hot crumpet when there is, along with any news on long awaited Stolen!

It may be that there is a low publicity profile, but it can only be assumed that it is still in pre-production and filming has not yet begun, hard to keep something like that under wraps!

Upon reading this news, I remembered the time I watched his LOVE ME TENDER performance in a movie. I supposed to finish it but I was carried away by his soothing voice so I decided to stop it. Otherwise, I've gone crazy!! X)) You know what? I'm also excited for this comedy & musical production. This could be another break for Nicolas! And I am hoping so! Cause I know there's so many fans of him out there who wants him to sing once again. Of course, we are includes to that list! ^^ Fighting, Nic!!! ^^

We also have discussed this in Lady T's Mont Blanc pics thread. Nic has mentioned that he would go to talk with the new film crew when he came back to the US, and he also disclose that it will be a fundamentally new and challenging role for him to play, how cool I am assuming he is filming that now. I am totally with you Lady T, only time will tell what the movie he was referring to.

I am hoping he's filming the movie right now. =)) And wish him luck! ^^ In your own opinion. in what month or year that movie will release? I don't know the process of an American film before its release on cinemas. Can somebody tell me the process?? Thanks!!
