According to an exclusive from Bloody-Disgusting.com, Nic has been offered the lead role of 'Joseph' in a Hammer horror film called 'The Quiet Ones'. Directed by John Pogue, the film is to be based on a true story from the 1970's about an attempted exorcism by a group of academics on a young girl.
For the fact, that Nic also loves horrormovies, this should really happen. Would really be spooky awesome to see him in such a role! Thanks for posting it, Lula.
btw: The articel says: gesit. The right spelling for ghost or mind in german is: geist. (Thought, it would be important to mention it.)

Hi Lady Arwen! Oh! How I would LOVE to see this happen! I feel like I have been waiting all my life for Nic in a role like this, lol!
I agree with you, Nic obviously has a penchant for Horror, he has mentioned it more and more in interviews in the past year. The premise of this movie seems to suit his sensibilities well!
Out of interest, only recently at the 2011 Sedona International Film Festival did Nic mention his plans with veteran director Roger Corman to develop a film project recreating the feel and essence of the classic Roger Corman and Vincent Price B movie horrors!
You`re welcome, dear Lula. :) And, yes. Like in Poltergeist.
It would be really thrilling, if he could play in that movie! A horrormovie with Nic is def something special! He sure loves making movies with mythical themes. And, for the fact, that in GR2 would also be a exorcism-scene, I could imagine, that he would be great in that movie, too.

Sounds right up his alley. Nic has been named in quite a few interesting sounding projects, lately, what with Frank or Francis, and the rumours of the Broadway show and Black Butterfly, pus others too! Variety is the spice of life, so that works for me. Except I hate exorcism movies, but hey, I might bring myself to watch if Nic does make this one.
I agree with you Meg, all of Nc's upcoming projects, confirmed and rumoured, sound exceptionally juicy. I think I know what you mean about exorcism movies, but I find them really interesting on all kinds of levels. I am not a fan of certain aspects of horror, i do not like slasher films, i detest ones thst are merely scenes of the most estreme gore strng together by a weak to non existent plot, i tend to prefer the early horrors, or the real classic suspenseful ones. or Vincent Price and Sir Christopher Lee flavoured ones..
but.....wasn't Season Of the Witch...in the end...an exorcism movie ?!
Yes, it was. And, unfortunatly, our two heroes died in the end, but saved the world. Although, I love SOTW, I don`t like the scenes, where our two heroes die at the end. I prefer, to see our Hero to save the day and live at the end of a movie!

I felt it was very noble and harrowing for the two heros in SOTW to die in the end. They died for a cause they believed in and deemed it necessary to die for something bigger than themselves. That being to preserve the human race from a evil entity that threatened to destroy the world. CLC
I totally agree with you CLC, but in general, I prefer a happy end, where the hero lives in the end. And, I also know, that sometimes the hero has to die, to safe the world, the day or someone he loves. And, even in those dying-scenes Nic pulls it totally off with his brilliant acting. :)

Thanks Lady Arwen, I feel with the clever ambiguity of the witch thoughout the film, the fact that it is in the end an exorcism movie, may be missed! I love the moment when the girl is released from the demon, and that special moment passes between her and behmnen before he dies. I feel that these characters are ultimately made even more herioc by their commitment and sacrifice.
To steer it slightly more back on topic, what do people think...would you class Season of The Witch as a horror movie?
And ......in the rumoured "The Quiet Ones", is nic to play an academic, a spiritualist, or a member of the cloth? I can't work that out?!
Yes, indeed, SOTW is an exorcism film in it's way, but not the kind that repells me. The Exorcist seriously affected me when I saw it and I have always avoided such types of movies since. Speaking of that last moment of Behman's in the movie, Lula, have you ever gotten to see the alternate ending? I actually prefer it to the one they used. I never really think of it as a horror movie, although it certainly has horror elements,

I agree Lady T, when I saw the exorcist for the first time it was kinda traumatic. but it remains in my mind as a classic horror movie! Exorcism relating to children I find difficult i think, and this indicates 'The Quiet Ones' involves a young girl.
It is not available on the region 2 DVD, so I have only seen this clip of the SOTW alternate ending !
Looks like dreadcentral are in agreement with us about Nic in this movie!
I thought perhaps you had given in and bought the international one!
I nearly did, but became convinced that the powers of the universe and the movie gods would deliver justice! still do not see how it is available on region 1 dvd not region 2! ?! have to say though i did rate the ending we end up with!
I totally think Nic's style of acting can bring something to the Hammer history, hopefully with glimpses of a return to their older movies. Depending on the character he plays and his sensibilities, Nic would undoubtedly bring something entirely unique, yet fitting and awesome to the movie. I loved Let Me In, but wasn't so keen on The Resident..but am very looking forward to The Woman In Black!
No sign of a mention of 'The Quiet Ones' on their official film site yet, which is so worth a visit even if just for the vintage movie artwork, awesome!
