Movie Synopsis:
Happily single playboy Jack Campbell, a highly successful, competitive and materialistic wallstreet executive in New York, wakes up on Christmas morning in an alternative life, the life where he didn't leave his college girlfriend years ago at the airport and get on a plane to England to begin his banking career. Disorientated and confused, Jack gets out of the bed he appears to be sharing with his wife Kate, leaves his suburban house, drives in his family car ( not his beloved silver ferarri ) to his apartment and place of work only to not be recognised in both places. After an encounter with an angel, he learns this is an alternate reality to learn some kind of lesson. Jack struggles to adapt to the role of family man, tyre salesman, father to two children and husband to Kate, making some serious mistakes along the way including missing their wedding anniversary, considering having an affair with a married woman in their circle who has had her eye on family man Jack for years, and arguing with non-profit lawyer Kate about how could she let him give up on his career ambitions to 'settle' for this life. After observing Jack for a while, his young daughter soon lets him know that she knows he is not her Father, but agrees to help him in navigating the challenges of his new life, and despite his initial frantic despair, Jack begins to find himself enjoying being the family man, growing to love his children and remembering the love he feels for Kate all over again. He also proves so successful in his tyre sales job, that he wins himself an offer of a highly lucrative contract from the very same investment firm where he had his executive position in his former life, that would enable Kate and him to move and live in a more luxurious lifestyle. But will Kate help Jack realise where his true values lie, and how will his former life change now he has had a real life glimpse of what he was missing?

I guess I never watched it, although it seemed very popular, because I thought it would be too cute and cloying, not my favourite things in a movie, but not so at all, of course. Way too funny and thoughtful to be smaltzy.
@Lady T there is alway room for Nic flavoured smaltzy in my life, but i know what you mean! and i agree it is not sickly swwet, just funny and captivating, and moving!
At the airport, they were both too old really to play that scene, but I like that the director didn't make them look falsely young, like so many movies do with make-up. or use other actors.
Her speech was so touching and stirring, how could he leave?
The beginning at the airport seem to be as an average scene, where Jack has decided to go to London, but, when Kate tries to convince him, not to go, and she says, "And, I choose us", it seems, that there are little doupts in Jack, if he should go or stay with her. And, then the look on Kates face, when she thought, he would stay, and then discovers, that he decided to go. This disapointment on her face.
