I wasn't sure where to post this, but seeing as GHOST RIDER did begin in the mind of the creator, former Marvel writer Gary Friedrich, this seems the appropriate place!
In my mind, obviously the legal argument is correct, but I would like to pay homage to the man who did actually create the character Ghost Rider. no comfort to him I know...but I raise my cup of herbal tea to Mr Friedrich :coffee: and will forever more honour that each and every bit of Ghost Rider merch or film has a piece of you in it!!
I'm sure there's a lot of legal mumbo, jumbo that goes along with awarding Marvel all rights to Ghostrider. I suppose specifically, the fact that Mr. Friedrich sold over all his rights.
It must really be tough for writers. I mean, they never really know what project is going to be a huge success so they sell their rights for cheap, only to later find they had a goldmine.
Absolutely! As Mr Friedrich did create the character our of his very own brainbox, in my mind thereshould be some acknowledgement given, aside from the financial legal gobbledegook! (which of coures is not gobbledegook to him, no trivialising intended)

Oh Lula, you just gave me joy!! Nic once used the term "gobbledegook" as he referred to media outlets reporting inaccurate info on him. Very good!!!
You know, this story reminds me of years ago, when Paul McCartney was so angry with Michael Jackson when he has purchased catalogs of the Beattles music which Michael then owned - Only for the music to be worth millions today and none of the Beattle's remaining members will see any profit. It's sad really.
