ginger root.. fresh.. in boilng water ..and RAW GARLIC! everyone has a cold here in the uk Lady T..it is freezing over here right now!
I really enjoyed the interviewers thoughtful questions here, it is always great to hear Nic talk about his own movies. Bringing Out The Dead is such a highly undersung film, which has always baffled me..a gorgeously dark powerful Scorcese tone poem to New York
It has been a while since i have heard an interview where Nics' skull was mentioned..not his own actual skull lol..neatly done Mr interviewer..I am more interested in the rocks though, my ears really prick up when he mentions that, being into the whole natural and suernatural aspect
Here is a great new current interview here with Nic! Hear him mention which one of his movies he thinks would be well worth a re-viewing, and he talks about some of his others! No wonder he looked kind of tired in his press conferences all over Europe, he sounds like he has a miserable cold; hot lemon drink with honey and ginger, Nicolas, very soothing!
I enjoyed it too, love the questions, a little different than most. And enjoyed hearing Nic talk about some of his movies. Yes, Bringing Out The Dead, so intense and powerful, I think it may be my favourite of Nic's movies so far, although that is still a hard thing to say.
I have seen on the news that Europe is having major cold spells and all round nasty winter weather. Even Russia and some of the eastern European countries seem to be getting hard hit. Hope you all stay warm till spring! We are haing quite an unseasonable winter, not much snow and lots of days of higher temps.
That was a really interesting and great interview! Poor Nic! He really sounds, as if he had a cold! But, no wonder, with all the stress with filming, traveling and giving interviews all the time! But, I really enjoyed it, and the questions were really good! So, it is confirmed: He really owns a dino-skull! And, I loved his rings! Beautiful! Thanks you, Lady T. for posting it!

Lol! Yes, it is difficult to tell what is Nicolas Cage mythology, but he famously has a skull and rock collection, including a mars rock, with various stories attached! Just reading this brought to mind a Sean bean interivew from around the time of National Treasure, where one of Nics' skulls was accidently broken during a poool game and Sean Bean suggested gluing it back together, but Nic wanted (quite rightly!) to perform a proper burial and ritual!
I think I have seen a picture somewhere of a huge rock on display in one of his homes, wonder if that is the Mars rock?
I love that story about the skull, Lula, it is something that might have been used in an article to show Nic's oddness, yet to me it shows his sense of what is right and fitting.
You are probably right Lady T, it goes back to the discussion of those somewhat arbritary labels 'weird' and 'normal'....in that skull scenario I know which side of the fence i would fall on and to me that would be entirely normal yet weird to many. I wish I could find the full interview now..but all i came up with was this brief article without the actual detail:
