Opening in theaters this week, GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE returns actor NICOLAS CAGE to the role he last visited in 2007. Based on the popular Marvel comic book series and armed with the promise of being a reboot rather than a continuation of the previous film, it’s been directed by MARK NEVELDINE and BRIAN TAYLOR and also stars IDRIS ELBA, VIOLANTE PLACIDO, CIARAN HINDS and JOHNNY WHITWORTH. A long time fan of all things spooky, CAGE has always lamented the fact that horror, sci-fi and supernatural films don’t often get the respect they deserve. But, during a recent interview, he speculated that opinions of the genre are changing
Neat little clip Lady T, thank you for posting! I truly hope Nic is right that there will be a shift in perspective and an opening of the arms, or should i say minds, of the cinematic intelligentsia to the sci fi genre, because from my perspective there is nothing more artistic in the true sense of the word, and perhaps nothing more revolutionary in it's capacity to powerfully raise awareness of the here and now by defamiiliarising it and shining a light on it through possible utopian or dystopian realities.
