OMG! If Nic would come to the theater, where I was going to watch it, and would introduce the movie himself, I guess, I would surely be near to fade, because of this awesomeness and the honor, to witness this!
And, it would be def a real treat, if he would sing in this musical, he plans! I love his voice! Especially his singing voice is incredNICble! In the Interview, when he recalled, in which movies he sang, he forgot to mention "Captain Corellis`s Mandolin". There are a few scenes where he sings. And, in one scene, you hear him sing a little bit of "o mio babbino caro". Thank you, Lady T. for posting and sharing it! What a treat!

There is so much great stuff in this clip; his lovely comments about his loyal fans; and about the Sandburg skits on SNL; his change in direction in his movie choices; and a possible musical like Phantom of the Opera!! Lula, I didn't hear him say on stage, did I miss something?
INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!! I would have loved to have been there and watched Nicolas Cage walk out to greet fans and introduce his movie!! SUPER DUPER INDEED!!!!
So I had a thought last night..is Nic referring to Frank Or Francis, which has been confirmed by Charlie Kaufman to be an all out musical? or, just vaguely thinking out loud, could he be referring to the new Valley Girl musical remake we have heard about recently? maybe he could return as Julie's old hippy dad.... that would be hilarious! OR maybe this is something entirely new and as yet unheard of!!!
I think Sir Nicolas is also doing himself a disservice about his singing voice, the man can sing, as we have seen in a number of his movies, not just Wild At Heart, and no offense to either of them but off the top of my head he would do a miles better job in an a full blown musical than say Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia or Johnny Depp in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street!
Indeed, Lula! His singing voice is just incredNICble! He can really sing! He proofed it in lots of movies, like Family man, WAH, CCM, Peggy Sue got married, Racing with the moon, (kind of in singing in) CoA...(Just to name a few!)

Have not seem Sweeny Todd but there is no way Nic couldn't sing better than Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia! And I do love Pierce Brosnan and thought he was great in Mamma Mia.
My impression from what Nic said in this clip is that at first he was referring to a project where he is in a musical but does not sing. I thought maybe Frank or Francis for that. And then I thought he went on to refer to something else he himself is working on! ( the Phantom of the Opera part ). Must watch it again to see if I still get that impression.
Lol...I imagine my jaw would hit the floor if Nicolas Cage dressed all in leather entered the cinema to intro one of his movies nicschix! it would be really cool if you could give him your direct experience of the movie just after too, soemhow I always have the urge to say thank you for what I have just seen!
I was merely idly speculating / wshful thinking out loud about any Nic connection with the Valley Girl remake nicschix, sorry for any confusion. the topic on that is over here:
Thinking of 'Frank or Francis' made me remember this clip, so I went looking for it to watch again. Still can't decide if he is talking about 'F or F' here, but thought I'd bump it up for fun. What do you all think, is Nic talking about a whole other project or is it 'F or F'? The Phantom of the Opera reference makes me wonder a lot.
Thanks for bumping this up, Lady T:! Just watched it again, and I think, he could refer to Frank or Francis! Because, we know, that there will be singing! I do so hope, he will sing there! His singing voice is just amazing! :)

You would think Nic is talking about Frank Or Francis, but the Phantom Of The Opera reference throws that off track somewhat...? oh glorious mystery!!!
Such a joy to watch this again, thank you for bumping it up Lady Trueheart
