I do agree that the paparrazi aren't like, people with the good mention always, some paparrazi is good but it is way to much and overacted. I agree with him that the people who do are interested in his movies and his way of acting and not the gossip and the junk, or don't enjoy the gossip, are the real nicsters! Like us here! So nice of him to sign and take photo's with the people who get the chance to meet him =)

My brain only works on one power... The power of Nicolas Cage!
You are both welcome, but all thanks to Cristina really!
whatever can he mean?...TMZ are surely the pinnacle of high quality, respected and respectful journalism!
But seriously. my feelings on this issue are no secret..and as much as the zero paparazzi stalkerazzi guidelines here at forum Cagealot are my own feelings on the issue of invasions of privacy and appropriate fandom, I am glad that resonates with Nic's own vision to some degree. My line is drawn in a similar way, fan pics and consensual shots are fine, but when Nic (or any actor artist etc who has been gathered unchoosingly into the world of celebrity ) is just going about is own life, he has a right to be left alone. As I have said befer, artists are responding to their inner muse in their career choices, and even if they are aware of the celebrity culture, they do not sign up to a celebrity contract, or necesarily want to see that culture perpetuated.
Horrifying to think of Nic or anybody being ambushed in their car or on the street, it must be a very frightening feeling. I will never forget what happened with Lady Di.
Absolutely Lady T.. so unbearably tragic. unbelievable that it has somehow become legitimized that there is a right to pursue and intrude ont anyone's life in such a way.
to lurk ouside homes, to hang around restaurants shops, or just when someone is getting out of a car on the street, in Nic's case once at the cash point (remember that?) I want to gouge my eyes out with a spoon after seeing stuff like that ..i dont want to be part of it at all, even the looking.
I do find it hard to understand why people cannot see the difference between
a) the kind of publicity that perhapas Nic may come to expect, that he may not enjoy (conjecture on my part) but he agrees to, the interviews, the media the red carpet,, even fan pics,
and
b) catching people out when they are unawares, pursuing people, taking photos without their consent.
there is clearly a huge difference.
oh hang on i do understand why, because the ideology of celebrity culture has become so ingrained that people actually think it IS OK
I cannot find the rest of the interview anywhere....anyone else have more luck? Did any Italian fans out there see the complete interview last week? It would be great to hear about it!
