First of all, would this be the right forum to post a question about a particular movie of Mr. Cage's? I mean, before I even ask this question, I just want to know if this would be the right place! I don't want to take up anyplace I shouldn't!
Hello vlucas63 and a NICtastic to Cagealot Castle! I hope, you will like it here! Please, feel free to explore the many chambers aka topic and sections of the castle and, if you like, you can post here anything Nic-related or off-topic themes in the appropriate sections!
Of course! Just ask, and, if we could, then, I`m sure that, at least, one of our members will answer it!
btw: I moved your topic in here, as it belongs more in here, instead of the "past movies"-section! If you aren`t sure, where to post a topic, then you could read the guidelines at the beginning of every section, of just ask!

Thank you, Lady Roxanne! I just get so nervous before posting here, because you guys are so much more knowledgeable about everything, and you guys are such a community that I feel like I'm intruding.
Anyway, this is an honest question. About "The Wicker Man."
Don't laugh at me, but this was the first NC movie I ever sat down and intended to watch from start to finish (there wasn't anything else on TV that night). It's a long story, but a quick sum-up is the movie lost me very early on, because I figured out where it was going, and while I have never seen the scene in question, and can't and won't watch it, I vowed never to watch that movie again (so not for obvious reasons).
But it's thanks in part to things Mr. Cage himself has been saying about the movie that has convinced me, to a degree, to perhaps give that movie a second chance. Despite my obviously not having a sense of humor.... =)
Long question short - does anybody know if the bees were real?
I know, stupid question, but there it is. Thank you for listening to me ramble.
Hello. I have seen this movie several times. It took me awhile to understand all that went on, but it did eventually click. To answer your question as to whether the bees are real, the answer is yes and no. The director on the commentary explains they tried to use as many real bees as they could, but due to the fact they fly away, it was not always possible. The scene where the women is covered in them, those ARE real. Most of the bees outside were real, except for a few, the ones that were closest to the camera and the one's near Nick. Those were not real.
I hope I answered your question. Welcome to the Club. We have a good time here.
Thank you, Royaltraveler. It does. And it both is and isn't a relief to know. =)
Couldn't tell you why that whole bit bothered me so, and still bothers me. It just did, and does. And like I said, I haven't even seen the scene! I've only read about it.
Ehh, it's all a long story. Don't want to bore you with the details, though.
I do hope to post here more often. I just don't know where to start!
I am happy my answer helped you. And you might be surprised I am aware of the scene you are talking about. It is frightning to watch and I would not recommend it. It is all over the internet and hard to avoid when do Nick searches.
May I ask how you became a Nick fan if this is the only movie of his you have seen? He is such a brilliant actor and made dozens of fantastic movies. There are only a handful I do not like, but watch only because Nick is in them. When I became a fan, I started watching them in order, starting with " Best of Times" This can only be watched on the Internet, so it is accessable all over the world. He was 17 and WOW. Then move up the scale with Fast Times at Ridgemont High and go through the years. You will notice how Nick matures, how he learns his craft and gets cutier. He taken on almost every genre out there and been over 30 differant types of characters in his career. If you purchase a DVD witha commentary, be sure to watch that. They are very interesting and you learn so much about the movie and Nick.
If you have any questions, just ask. I have seen ALL of his movies.
That was a really NICxellent question that, I`m sure, many other NICsters had on their minds, too, vlucas! :thumpsup:Thank you, for asking! And, thank you, Royaltraveler, for answering it! I didn`t know that, either (and, it`s been a pretty while since I saw it the last time)!
Your comments and posts are always welcomed here! And, no need, to be afraid of asking questions! If anyone of us can answer it, we surely do!

I didn't know that, about the bees. I have only seen it once, it just is not the kind of movie I choose to watch, really, but I liked it much more that I expected to. I did find it quite funny and laughed a lot, in astonishment or shock, I'm not sure why, really. Don't feel nervous about posting, Victoria, we love to hear from new fans.
It's a long story. He's basically been big in the business my whole entire life, and I've been aware of him for a very long time. But I never 'got' him until about last October, with what I saw of "The Wicker Man" and then seeing "Sorcerer's Apprentice" on TV. And since then, it's just been like....wow! You know? How could I have missed someone like this?!? What rock was I living under?!?
My favorite movie of his so far is "Bad Lieutenant," with "Sorcerer's" and "The Croods" second and third, respectively (for now). I've seen both "National Treasure" movies, some of "Next," "Valley Girl," "Con Air," the first "Ghost Rider," some of "Kick-Ass"....goodness, this list goes on and on. I loved "Drive Angry;" I posted a 'review' of it on my blog, complete with an irrelevant but relevant song. I have yet to see "Bringing Out the Dead," "Raising Arizona," and "Adaptation," as well as several others, but I bought them all and they're all in the cue, so to speak.
You have seen quite a few. My favorites are the big 3 action, Con Air, The Rock and Face/Off. I LOVE Sorcerer's Apprentice. I was like you. I am very close to Nick's age, and had been watching his movies forever, some I did not even like. Moonstruck and Raising Arizona come to mind. However the Treaure Movie's I love. A year and a half ago, I was watching one of his movies and it all of a sudden it struck me, "Wow, look at this fantastic man." I don't know why I did not see "HIM" before. So, from that point on, I was hooked. After watching Moonstruck and Raising Arizona again, I now love them. I love most of them. The one I don't like is Deadfall. However it does have Nick in it, and it is a Coppola film. So I watch it when it comes up in the lineup. I watch them in order of when they were made.
It took me a long time to start writing on this forum, but thanks to everyone here, I am becoming more comfortable with it. It is always fun to write about my favorite subject, His Royal Highness Nicolas Cage.
