I was talking to a friend of mine recently about Season of the Witch and how he felt somewhat lied to when he saw it. He watched the movie based on the trailer alone, which is never a good thing to do and after a brief conversation of, 'why do you feel like this?' He told me that in the trailer it said 'Armies will clash' and 'Kingdoms will fall' and finding out that all those epic shots of armies fighting was only in the first 10 minutes. I do understand where he is coming from, they made such a big deal out of it in the trailer and thinking about it, it's downright false advertising. I guess no real harm was done because he ended up liking the movie anyway, more than me infact, but he brought up a good point. Regardless if you had seen the trailer or not what do you think? Do you think it would have been good with more of a Nobel war aspect thrown in there with the actual story? Because those beginning fight scenes were some of the best looking things in the movie. Without spoiling anything, I know what happens in the war scene with Cage's and Perlman's characters about fighting and killing, so, maybe the trailer should have been changed?
I am not into fighting scenes at all, so I am glad they were limited. I loved the movies, and have seen it several times. It gets exciting at times and I love Nic. He seems so Noble to me.
I approached it with some trepidation, but I ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would. It's good Halloween fare, to be sure. I actually thought it was more of an ensemble movie, with no one actor, not even Mr. Cage, standing out more than anyone else; I guess make of that what you will.
That`s an interesting question, Enzo! Well, I agree, that jugding a movie by watching the trailer and expect things, that aren`t in the actual movie or aren`t meant like that, isn`t, necessarily a good idea, if you only watch the movie with that expectation! The fighting scenes at the beginning was to show and introduce the two main characters as knights, who fights in the crusades! And, I think, what they meant with "armies will clash" and "kingdoms will fall" they meant, the demonic army and hellish kingdom, which were fought by our heros at the abby at the end of the movie, to end the plaque!

Never thought about it before, Enzo, and now I can't recall the trailer at all. But Lady R's answer makes sense to me.
I loved it, saw it in the theatre and enjoyed every minute of it. I have watched it several times since then, I really enjoyed Nic's noble knight character, and thought he played him beautifully. I have always liked Ron Perlman since Beauty and the Beast so many years ago, and he never disappoints either. I thought they had good chemistry together.
The ending kills it for me I am afraid. Hate, hate, hate the CGI! Still would like to see it in its entirety with its original ending...i do like the bridge/wolf scene and the atmosphere of the whole film up to the final scene.
