Nicolas Cage's most known films?

IMDb lists Nicolas Cage's most known films as follows

Lord of War
2. Adaptation
3. National Treasure
4. Face/Off

The list is subject to change but it happens very rarely and when it does change its usually only for a day or too. I think this website might just see which of his films have the most user reviews and then judge that as 'most known'

I think his most known films are:

1. Gone in Sixty Seconds
2. National Treasure
3. Ghost Rider
4. Con Air

How did I come to this conclusion? I did an opinion poll of Nicolas Cage films at my college and around the neighborhood and I thought these might be the correct answers and it seems I was correct. However, which do you think are his most known?

Your list looks more accurate to me, Enzo.

I would definitely have Con Air, everyone seems to know that one, and it is forever rotating on tv too. And the National Treasures, for sure. I would add The Rock to my list, I think. Since all the viral stuff about Nic started a few years ago there is probably a much more heightened awareness of his earlier movies such as Vampires' Kiss, so I will end my list with that one.

I think, it depends on who you ask, and on the genre! If I compare the lists with those, which are shown mostly on german tv, then I would say:

1. NT1 and NT2

2. Ghost Rider

3. City of Angels

4. Gone in Sixty Seconds

5. Con Air, The Rock, Face/off

6. NEXT

But, I think, if you look around the net, some scenes and performances of movies like  Wicker Man ("not the bees") and Vampire`s  Kiss could also be on that list! And, who could forget his oscar-winning performance in Leaving Las Vegas!

Oh, Lady T, if you're mentioning films that are on TV a lot, Seeking Justice is on nearly everyday, I put that in the thread about his films on TV once because it is literally on TV everyday.

good lists, guys smile Thanks Eva biggrin

Yes, who could forget Leaving Las Vegas? pinkp The best acting ever!

Yep, I really like your choices and I agree with them all!

Really, Enzo, I am surprised. I don't think SJ gets shown here much, if at all. I don't watch a lot of tv but my dh does and he always lets me know if a Nic movie is on. Trespass was on not too long ago, and Ghost Rider and Raising Arizona is quite often on. Good to know SJ is popular, I think it is one of those overlooked movies, I quite like it. I watched it not too long ago and enjoyed it even more than the last time. All these movies are ones I would watch any time!

this is an interesting lists. I just seen recently I think on either FX or another cable network the sequel to National Treasures. Yes, National Treasure 2 one. Neat. You just have to look around your networks of his films. It seems to me that they are showing many of his movies old ones or newer ones too. Cool. I just put his name in my manager series Nicolas Cage and any time any thing comes up with him in either a movie or interviews etc. than it will be recorded automatic on my Direct TV DVR. So I never miss Nick at all.
