London: Actor Nicolas Cage says sarcastic comments made by critics about him lower his confidence. The 50-year-old 'Kick-Ass' actor said he cannot stop himself reading people's opinions, and revealed he sometimes cares too much and complains to his wife about what the public have said about him, reportedly.
"I care about what people think of me. There are plenty of good things I've inherited from my father, but he was also very self-involved and someone who was concerned about how he was perceived.
"Some of the snarky comments people make can get under my skin. I can be a bit of a broken record at home when I read the things that are said about me," he said.
Cage added that he reminds himself to stop bothering about others' opinions about him. But I have to just stop belabouring these things and let it go, rather than complaining to my wife all the time," the actor said.
I thought in another interview he said criticism didn't bother him?
I wonder if he means the stupid comments people make online rather than the movie critics? I don't know how he manages to be so graceful about it all actually, people online can be terrible bullies. The s*** they say makes me sick sometimes. And it isn't even about me. Take heart in knowing the are all inbreds, Nic!
