So, in my spare time, I'm a writer. And National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo) is coming up shortly, all through November.
I don't know if you would believe this, but I've been working on one particular story since 2003. It's gone through many different plot points and variations over the years, but I think I finally have it at a point where it will all make perfect sense, and where I am actually going to get it done for NaNo 2016, and beyond.
When it comes to writing, at least for me, publication is not the ultimate goal, yet with this story, I believe in it so much that, if I can do it right, it could actually turn out to be my first novel. So I'm sort of really looking forward to writing it.
But anyway, getting to the point (and sorry for the backstory there, but it needed to be said).
One of the characters in my story has pretty much been based upon Nicolas Cage. I can't tell you about the character specifically (it's my fear of writer's jinx), except to say that he is very important to the story.
So, what I am asking for is for your honest opinions of Mr. Cage. I know, such opinions have been expressed several times in the whole entire forum. I guess what I'm looking for is, what do you think he's like as a person? Not as an actor, but as a person. Anything you think - good or bad.
Sorry that's all somewhat vague, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello and welcome to the group. I have not been on for awhile but when I saw your post I thought I should post. Writer to Writer.
I have a very high opinion of Mr. Nicolas Cage. I have done alot of research on him personally and have found him to be an honest kind man who has a very big heart. I have read all of his interviews about both his personal life and career and have found that they are very different sides of the man. In his career, he is found to be a wild and crazy and loves to fool around. In his personal life, he loves to joke around but can also be a quiet sensitive man. He loves to give autographs and have his picture taken with fans. He has donated millions of dollars to many charities, mostly involving children and the environment. He is not flashy and does not enjoy the "Hollywood" scene anymore. He is very much a family man with 2 sons and 2 grandsons. He loves to travel and takes his kids with him whenever he can. Even when he is doing a movie. He is sensitive and does not show ego or machismo like so many "stars". I read along time ago where he does carry his emotions on his sleeve and can cry easily. He is a wonderful man who loves who he is and is not afraid to show it. He is a mans man without all the crap that goes with it.
That's so beautiful, what you said. I feel so much the same way about him as you do.
What I seem to have found true about him as well is, he doesn't say something unless he means it. And, as for film projects, he doesn't take on any role he doesn't believe in.
