The reason under my hag appearance is that I´m the resident split personality, LOL!

Now seriously, I love the Dame Ragnelle legend, since she was a medieval feminist avant la lettre. I feel maybe I´d better elaborate a little bit... This is how it goes:

A spell was cast unpon King Arthur on approaching uncharted territory. A misterious lady, Dame Ragnelle, who was a hag half of the time, and a gorgeous lady for the rest of the day, told him that he only could be liberated from the spell by answering this simple question: “What does a woman want most?” ... She will only reveal the answer to this counundrum when a knight in shining armor marries her. The answer to the riddle was of course, according to the Aretha Franklin song, R-E-S-P-E-C-T. But in this particular arthuric legend, the answer spells "sovereingty".

The Knights of the Round Table try to solve the riddle to no avail (it takes the poor souls a looot of hard thinking and fretting BTW and they don´t come with an answer) so in the end Sir Gawain is forced to marry ugly hag Ragnelle to save King Arthur from the spell.  King Arthur is then told by Ragnelle that what women want most is sovereingty. This is hardly news, but I guess in a medieval world this "revelation" came sort of unexpected for the poor man, in fact I can picture him on his ride back to Camelot scratching his crowned head, LOL!

Hunky Gawain boy resignedly takes this nasty unruly frog Ragnelle down the aisle. On wedding night, she asks him to take his pick: does he prefer to see her looking pretty and behaving properly by day, when they are surrounded by people, or rather by night, in the intimacy of their bedchamber? He generously tells her to choose for herself, thus giving her the thing she craved for, sovereingty from men, and as a result the curse is lifted and she turns pretty round the clock for his benefit *wink*and above all for her own fulfillment. The end.

Moral of the fable: girls, never trust a knight in shining armor unless he compromises to give you the space you need!

Thank you for your generous words about the Castle my friend, the gates are wide open for all our friends, should they find themselves homeless in Nic world. Cagealot Castle has no ownership in the sense it belongs to us all ... And our White Fay is as much a part of the magical and sturdy foundations as myself!

I know I speak for all three of us When I say the spirit of sharing, community and collaboration is the creative force birthing this Castle as it rises out of the mists of Cagealot!
