I just love all the energy balls and firing energy out of the hands thing, the merlin circle...the way they brought the ancient ways to life in this film!

Nick was really smart to want to use his hands for sorcery instead of the bracelets the director was planning on using. His hands are so beautiful and expressive,I love watching his interviews, the way he uses them.

I agree, Nic has the most beautiful, expressive hands with artistic creative long fingers. He has the hands of a musician! In an interview he said he wanted to use his hands in the way a conductor would, which obviously runs in his family heritage.
There is also something far more natural in using your hands to 'conjure' magic, even though the used the rings! Which were characters in the movie in themselves!
Does anyone remember the first scene between Balthazar and the young Dave? When he is about to go and retrieve the Encantus, he tells Dave, ''Do not move. Do not touch anything'' with a sorcerly flourish of the hand!
I loved Sorcerer's Apprentice! I would like to see him in more Disney and/or fantasy type roles, children's kind of movies, but for us grown up kids too!
