I suppose people who are more evolved -- or maybe just are different because of their past experiences, childhood instruction, cultural background, financial security, or temperament/personality -- base their actions/choices more on higher purposes they want to accomplish rather than worrying about survival or comfort... I'm just a simple plebian, what can I say? No grand inspirations, dreams, or motivations... But to live a simple, comfortable, pleasant life and do some good where possible...
Who would YOU be if you could "just be YOURSELF"? Now I'm really curious!
Do you think any person is a finite being that can completely know themselves?
Wow Lady grace, you were having fun here today!
finite, no. and depends on what is meant by 'know themselves' knowing is a nebulous concept! First thoughts, to have even an awareness of oneself is to have some kind of separation from oneness and for me if the highest truth is eternal and infinte one ness, then knowing oneself is not possible, this is why soul separation came about, in my truth, in order for the one to know itself. once it reaches realisation it merges with source and there is no separate consciousness.
Being yourself is again a matter of interpretation! highest self, for me, defintition above!
irony..for that awareness to have emerged in me (for my spiritualty has not ever been through books or intellectual concepts but direct experience) there had to have been a me. voila.
ok..yes or no.....do you believe things as true even if you have not felt that truth from the inside out?
That is a tricky question, as what we feel comes from our thoughts and beliefs (right?). So which came first, the chicken or the egg? Once we think that something is true, we have that feeling that it is true, whether it is or not, until a new experience or thought challenges that.
I usually test a new "truth" against my "gut" or "feelings" - which probably means against my preconceived beliefs. Either it resonates (makes sense/aligns with) or it doesn't.
What makes something true? Perception and interpretation affect so much. Each person's belief system is different. Even scientific experiments depend on observation and the mind that thought up the experiment must be factored into the "absolute"ness and relativity of the truths obtained. If you drop a rock, it must fall to the earth. That's a truth. But people of different cultures may interpret that as gravity or as earth spirits wanting the rock. Yes, I'm having fun.
Yes. Sometimes I know something theoretically but my feelings and ingrained beliefs tell me something different. Like I can know that sky diving accidents are very rare, but my gut tells me I'm gonna die if I jump out of a plane, parachute or not. So, just because you feel something to be true (I'm gonna die if I do that), doesn't make it true. But I usually listen to my gut/ingrained beliefs because it seems more safe/comfortable even tho sometimes irrational, unless it is something important to overcome, then I work on changing my thinking. If my "heart" (current desires/new thoughts/beliefs) is in opposition to and shouting above my "sensible" (established, proven) feelings/thoughts/beliefs, chaos usually ensues while I sort things out the best I can.
I'd like to hear your thoughts on that, so I'm going to throw that question right back at you!
I know, I know -- I think too much. Occupational hazard of being me. Curiosity, entertainment, truth seeking, illusion exploring, fun, sometimes a pain in the you-know-what, sometimes brings solutions, sometimes causes more problems...
The Buddhists encourage us to get beyond the monkey mind, but isn't it a part of creation, creating, the creation process? And to explore and know about all of the wonderful things, ideas, possibilities? God knowing itself in infinite forms and variations?
Okay, I had a coffee-chocolate shake for breakfast, which is like five times my usual caffeine intake. I'll put a cork in it, unless you're having fun, too?
Also, if we are God/Life/Existence/Spirit experiencing and expressing itself, why the big rush to get to nothingness again? I guess the point is to experience the oneness and also keep experiencing/expressing/exploring, at the same time... Gives us a bigger perspective that comforts our souls and gives us a sense of peace and compassion...
This may surprise..but no...i think we have powerful encounters with souls we have met before and karmic contracts, but not one soul mate, because ultimately we are all soul mates, just my truth.
is your line of vision mostly usually directly in front of you? (was thinking about this today, when i saw someone walking and looking at the ground the whole time and another who seemed to be looking over eveyone's head, think it is interesting!)
Nooo, I’m more likely to crept briskly along with my eyes on the ground, once i almost step on a kid, he looked at me in amazement and burst out grinning, so confusing i didn't even know why this made me giggle like a fool for a couple of minutes.
You always get desesperated to reach Friday or it makes you extremely happy when someone says "TGIF"
