Heh, Glad it resonated Zoo Keeper! and thank you,,,,,those myths just a keep on coming and sometimes they need to be exploded like a shooting star!
It's amazing how people commented to me on twitter about how they agreed with it, it is as if people keep quiet until someone else voices it....and while I do feel Nic fans don't need to take heed or react to his critics, sometimes some thngs need to be unequivocably said!
Aw thanks Caz and lady True, i would not want to speak on behalf of others but it is NICe that you feel the same way! It was so cathartic to write, and now i feel empowered as a Nic fan, each time i see one of these myths presented, i just hold up a mental banner that reads "Myth Deconstructed! lol!
I have a feeling everyone who responded in this topic could add a few gems of their own, please feel free to share your own peeves about the Nic crit stuff!
It's what I will be wearing to the opening of the Ghost Rider-Hellboy bar Caz!!
Oh and...In case people missed the Nic interview where that was mentioned, and in the likelihood I will change my avvie, check out the original thread here!
And mutual avatar appreciation right back at you Caz, and yours being one you yourself drew makes it very speciial!
Lulu, I am speechless! There is absolutely NOTHING that I can add! I will say that I had no idea that this wonderful, talented, wildly artistic man had given his monies from The World Trade Center to charity! I love him! Thank you for disspelling those myths about my one & only favorite actor, Nicolas Cage!
Nicolas Cage Myth 6: 'Nicolas Cage only gets work because his Uncle is Francis Ford Coppola'
Yawn. Even if he had a reluctant bunk up to the first rung of a very tall ladder because of his genes, Nicolas Cage has carved his own place in the film world through years of dedication and sheer hard work. He deliberately distanced himself from the accusations of nepotism by changing his name. Martha Coolidge gave him the part in Valley Girl, a film that launched his career and remains a Cage Classic amongst fans across the world even today, without knowing his family history.
Nicolas Cage has a successful and prolific career spanning decades, family heritage or not. This staying power is down to his own talent as an actor and his being held in high esteem by many directors. (see Nicolas Cage Myth 5.)
well thank you Ms Gina..lol, let our Absolute Truth trump their absolute truth!
funny, i don't feel like writing defensive articles any more, Nic myths are just so freaking OLD and becoming so tedious and naff now...they just don't hold any weight. Nic as an actor continues to carve that maverick sculpture that all people cannot help but gaze upon. some things are true whether you believe in them or not!
