Kelsey....it may be a depressing song but highly evocative. Music speaks directly to the soul and our souls respond to the depth of such a song. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I just posted a Leonard Cohen song on our other music thread, and now I will post one here!
Leonard Cohen with The Web Sisters; so, so beautiful
'If it Be Your Will.'
If It Be Your Will
If it be your will That I speak no more And my voice be still As it was before I will speak no more I shall abide until I am spoken for If it be your will If it be your will That a voice be true From this broken hill I will sing to you From this broken hill All your praises they shall ring If it be your will To let me sing From this broken hill All your praises they shall ring If it be your will To let me sing
If it be your will If there is a choice Let the rivers fill Let the hills rejoice Let your mercy spill On all these burning hearts in hell If it be your will To make us well
And draw us near And bind us tight All your children here In their rags of light In our rags of light All dressed to kill And end this night If it be your will
If it be your will.

Today is gonna be the day That they're gonna throw it back to you By now you should've somehow Realized what you gotta do I don't believe that anybody Feels the way I do about you now
Backbeat the word was on the street That the fire in your heart is out I'm sure you've heard it all before But you never really had a doubt I don't believe that anybody feels The way I do about you now
And all the roads we have to walk along are winding And all the lights that lead us there are blinding There are many things that I would Like to say to you I don't know how
Because maybe You're gonna be the one who saves me ? And after all You're my wonderwall

i really like Shanye Ward who is strictly a second-rate ,but im mesmerized by his handsome look & sexy voice & the way he plays but not the lyrics. i know,a classic is,not many people can remember all the lyrics, but the tune is well known .So lots of people just hum along
I haven't been in this thread for ages..and now i know why! lol! i go off on a trip on all the songs you've posted! now you know why i disappeared! love them all!!!
Kels you put me on a Roxy Music Bryan Ferry trip...this one is probably my favourite, and lady T, he seemed to still be going strong six months ago when the band performed live on the Jonathan Ross show here in the uk ( i will try to find some footage!)
and that put me in an 80's frame of mind and this iconic video and 80's song (looks dated now!)

When our father died the Limo's from the funeral home passed the family house one last time, on the way to the cemetary, and the driver had the radio on in the limo and as we passed by the family house, Piano In the Dark came on , just as we passed, we thought it was our father's way of saying goodbye to us. I never forgot it! it touched my soul so deeply, and our father hardly ever spoke, he was either reading the newspaper or watching baseball, sorry if it sounds morbid, but I Love that tune!!!
