I prefer the original also. Yes, I do love it, Lula, although I am not as big a Pink Floyd fan as you, I never really listened to them untill recently. Just listening to it now and reading the lyrics, it actually resonates with some periods of my life quite a lot. Thank you for posting the original, it is a beautiful video too.
It is definitely a passionate song Kels, powerful lyrics
"Set Fire To The Rain"
I let it fall, my heart, And as it fell, you rose to claim it It was dark and I was over Until you kissed my lips and you saved me
My hands, they're strong But my knees were far too weak To stand in your arms Without falling to your feet
But there's a side to you That I never knew, never knew. All the things you'd say They were never true, never true, And the games you play You would always win, always win.
[Chorus:] But I set fire to the rain, Watched it pour as I touched your face, Well, it burned while I cried 'Cause I heard it screaming out your name, your name!
When I lay with you I could stay there Close my eyes Feel you're here forever You and me together Nothing gets better
'Cause there's a side to you That I never knew, never knew, All the things you'd say, They were never true, never true, And the games you play You would always win, always win.
[Chorus:] But I set fire to the rain, Watched it pour as I touched your face, Well, it burned while I cried 'Cause I heard it screaming out your name, your name!
I set fire to the rain And I threw us into the flames Well, it felt something died 'Cause I knew that that was the last time, the last time!
Sometimes I wake up by the door, That heart you caught, must be waiting for you Even now that we're already over I can't help myself from looking for you.
[Chorus:] I set fire to the rain, Watch it pour as I touch your face, Well, it burned while I cried 'Cause I heard it screaming out your name, your name
I set fire to the rain, And I threw us into the flames Well, it felt something died 'Cause I knew that was the last time The last time, oh, oh!
Just heard this today, I really like this cover version, although I don't think Bonnie Raitt can be beat. But Adele has such a great voice.Which one do you prefer?
Tues, just listened and watched your EXQUISITE 6/20 posting. Luna na lubre sounded almost Celtic, altho the lyrics were in spanish! And Invisible Friend so hauntingly beautiful, hopeful... Thank you so much for posting.

Beautiful song. I like the version posted earlier with the montage of beautiful pictures. I think I saw it somewhere on this website... I wish I were there, too!
Tues, I know that is a very famous classical piece, but I've never heard such a rendition that blasted thru my being like a powerful storm moving quickly over a landscape -- a force of the heavens. Such perfection. Proof again that there is a God!
Please, who was the conductor and what orchestra? I must have it in my collection! Thank you so much for sharing such beauty with us!
