I think this is neither a coincidence nor wink, but might have to post it here. In film Wild At Heart, Lula's cousin Dell, who is called 'Jingle Dell' because of his obsession with Christmas, and in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, one of the craziest line from Johnny Blaze is : Merry Christmas *******.
In NT2, Ben opens the door to the special book-section, where the President`s book is kept with a code and opens the combination-lock of the drawer, where the book is with a code. And, in SJ, Will does the same, when he breaks into the school, after his suspension, by opening the door with a code and, a few minutes later, to get his cell from the closet, by open it with a combination.
Also, in both NT-parts, Ben ignites a flare: In NT1: in the cargo-hole, with Ian and the others, to prevent Shaw from shooting at him, and in NT2: to ignite the pipes with oil, that leads to Cibola.

Great! Err... I think the second one is movie winks but the other one can barely be associated with movie winks, dear Roxy. Thank you for sharing them.
Man, I would have to watch those movies a lot of times to remember the detail you do, Roxie! And, of course, have not seen SJ at all yet, so can't comment. But doesn't it happen in both NT movies that he ignites a running flame in some kind of trough to see inside the treasure place?

Yes, you are correct, Lady T.! That he does also in both NT-parts! In the first one, with a torch and the other one, as I already described it in one of my last posts, with that "warning torch" (or what ever it is called) (I have seen both parts countless times! That`s why I remember those details) :=)
Coincidence or Link?:
In Con Air, he calles his wife "hummingbird", and in NT2, his mother gave "hummingbird" ("...and release the hummingbird.") as a fake translation, (but also as a clue for Ben, to Patrick (her ex-husband).
Swamp Thing calls Cameron "Big Daddy" quite at the end of the scene, before they land on the Strip in Vegas, and in Kick Ass, Nic played a character named: Big Daddy!

Did anyone else noticed the links to Archangel St. Michael, in Nic`s movies?:
- The Rock: The microfilm, Mason hided years ago, was in St. Michaels Church
- Ghost Rider: The "contract of san venganza" was hidden in/at St. Michaels Church; As Johnny woke up in bed, after his first ride as GR, a picture of St. Michael is seen on one end of the bed and also in the scene, where the caretaker takes care of Johnnys wound.
After watching it last night for the first time, I want to add that scene:
-Ghost Rider2: Spirit of Vengeance: After the Ghost Rider throw Rourke back to hell, we see in the next scene, that his right, skeletal hand was covered in blue flames, with which he healed Danny, (blue is associated with St. Michael), and in the last scene, he drove away on his motorcycle, covered in blue flames!
Could those be coincidences?

ooh I like this one very very much Roxy! brilliantly observed!
And when you see GR:SOV you will be able to add that to the list too!
- BL:POCNO: Manzant/Burgundy Street: Surveillance of Midged (in the scene, where Terence sees the iguanas)
- SJ: When Will and Laura are celebrating their anniversary in the bar, at the beginning, the news on the tv in the backround mentiones those two streets as a crime scene!

Thanks, Lula! Well, I watched BL last night, and, as I saw the two streetnames, I recalled the scene from SJ, where this two streets are mentioned, too! :)

Thanks, Lula! btw: I added the part, which I think, you meant, to the previous post!
I also discovered, that the song, that playes on the radio, when Carrigan (as Blackout) drives the ambulance, is the same, Seth sings in CoA, after he became human, and also it was sung and played by Jerry Lewis in the scene, Messinger watches, as he switches through the channels on the tv in his room in the hospital: "old black magic"
