All of these are so fun and I'm happy to read and recall all of those scenes in his movies. I need to put on my Thinking Cap on (Knowing) ha ha to recall some others in his movies for me to watch over again. YES!

A revisit to a previous wink I posted, in which I wondered about beige volvos:

I saw this at IMDb. But I rarely notice cars in movies so I can't attest to the accuracy of this statement. What say you! Sounds like movie winks to me.

....In The Rock (1996), Stanley says he drives a beige Volvo.

....In Face/Off (1997), After escaping from the prison, Archer (Nic) steals a beige Volvo.

....In Con Air (1997), Cameron  drops the dead body of "Pinball" from the plane, and it falls onto a beige Volvo.

Television Tropes defines “Actor Allusion” as “…a joke or reference which is specific to one of the actors in a (film). It can be a little blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, or it can be bigger and more blatant.” For Nicolas Cage there was a running gag referenced beige Volvos, which showed up in three of his action adventure movies of the mid 1990s.

It all started with 1996′s The Rock, a Michael Bay thriller co-starring Sean Connery. Cage plays Stanley Lightspeed, a biochemist working for the FBI who needs to defuse a bomb on Alkatraz island. Connery’s character John Mason helps him out, but protests when Lightspeed becomes tired. To which Cage blurts out:

Look, I’m just a biochemist. Most of the time, I work in a little glass jar and lead a very uneventful life. I drive a Volvo, a beige one. But what I’m dealing with here is one of the most deadly substances the earth has ever known, so what say you cut me some FRIGGIN’ SLACK?

The insertion of the name “Volvo” and the cars beige color comes out awkwardly, as if he’s reciting a character description, not conversing as a human being. It’s a ham-fisted way to show how monumentally boring his character used to be, and comes across more funny than serious.

Next is Con Air, a prisoner escape flick from 1997. Here a beige 245 is used as a prop in a grotesque joke involving bird crap and a dead David Chappelle. Using Chappelle’s body as a message in a bottle, Cage secretly writes a note on his t-shirt and dumps his body off a plane flying above Fresno California. Finally, Cage steals a beige 850 after escaping from prison in the movie Face/Off.

hmm... I think the hair slick back may also appear in The Bad Lieutenant..can anyone think of the scene? and in Trespass, the scene in front of the safe where the intruders think the diamonds are kept,  where he says "who's cutting them?" ( I referred to the correlation in my trespass review!) I need to watch them agan to double check this though! 

Ahaa! the head roll is so cool! I  want to say ther is one in Seeking Justice...but that would be untrue.but there ar dance moves..and it somehow wouldn't go amiss at that point! lol!

Yes, I remember a scene in Bad Lieutenant, Lula. It was quite at the beginning, before he went to the homicide crime scene. I tried to find a pic or a gif for that, but till now, I couldn`t find one. Maybe, one of our other cagiacs could find one with that scene?

I think, you could be right, Lula! But, to make sure, I think, I should watch it again. :)

May I ask something? I tried to read and understand, so if I got it right, movie winks are things between movies that may redirect to another movie?
