One thing I love about the internet if that through youtube and spotify we have such wide ranging access to music, that can be so quickly shared. Since my music taste jumps haphazardly from shelf to shelf all over the shop, I'll listen to anything once! So, this is a thread for posting links to songs you really enjoy and would like to share!
At the moment, I can't get enough of The Magnetic Fields, especially their tribute to Billie Holiday:
I mean, baritone voices are an easy win for me, but that swirling, insistent piano is gorgeous and the whole thing's so sincere and lovely!

*has mini admin dilemma* Only mentioning it because I have a tendency to repeat myself often, lol, but there's lots of lovely music sharing going on here in our Music Hall too, just so anyone who comes to this thread first gets that prior insight into the sharings already happened!
Beautiful song Sprocket. Music alters my chemical makeup deeply and sublimely...it's potent stuff....!it tends to blur that borderline of pleasure and pain for me, as it pulls your heart right out of your chest and throws it across the universe!

Look at the ivy on the cold clinging wall Look at the flowers and the green grass so tall It's not a matter of when push comes to shove It's just an hour on the wings of a dove
I dig it when you're fancy dressed up in lace I dig it when you have a smile on your face This inspiration's got to be on the flow This invitation's got to see it and know
It's just warm love It's just warm love And it's everpresent everywhere And it's everpresent everywhere That warm love
To the country I'm going Lay and laugh in the sun You can bring, bring your guitar along We'll sing some songs, we'll have some fun
The sky is crying and it's time to go home And we shall hurry to the car from the foam Sit by the fire and dry out our wet clothes It's raining outside from the skies up above
Inside it's warm love Inside it's warm love And it's everpresent everywhere And it's everpresent everywhere Warm love Warm love
Aw good ol' Radiohead! My old English tutor's claim to fame was that he knew the band in Oxford back when they were called On A Friday and one day had a phone call from Thom asked him whether they should change the band's name to Radiohead. He told them he thought the change was a terrible idea and they should stick with On A Friday... XD
I can't believe it's taken me so long to post an Eisley song for you guys. They're a lovely, bewitching lil' old band from Texas. This song was inspired by Invasion of the Body Snatchers:
They are new to me Sprocket, thanks for that great song and loved the video! Much as I love the unique tones of Chrissie Hyndes Lady True, I far prefer the Radiohead version, good call Kelsey! That's a very cool Radiohead story Sprocket!
Today I've been listening to David Bowie today, Changes and Hunky Dory. I miss playing these on vinyl...but no decks here! He's another utterly unique artist
Anyway just searching on youtube and came across this rare rehearsal recording of Changes..not seen it before!
Bowie is just relentlessly amazing! One of the best! I really like his slightly edgy 80s material such as 'Scary Monsters' and 'Station to Station' but really any of his periods have their charms! :D
