Words are flying out like endless rain into a paper cup They slither while they pass They slip away across the universe Pools of sorrow waves of joy are drifting thorough my open mind Possessing and caressing me
Jai guru deva om Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world
Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes That call me on and on across the universe Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box they tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe
Jai guru deva om Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world
Sounds of laughter shades of life are ringing through my open ears exciting and inviting me Limitless undying love which shines around me like a million suns It calls me on and on across the universe
Jai guru deva om Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Jai guru deva Jai guru deva

That is one of my all time favourite Beatles songs too White Fay!
Sprocket...it took me a while to make my way in this thread. but wow......love the combination of David Gilmour and Hushabye Mountain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a huge fan of Pink Floyd and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!!!!!!! truly scrumptious..thanks!
The Wall is my favourite Pink Floyd album (possibly fave album of all time) and I was lucky enough to see it live in Berlin with roger Walters when the wall came down. but today I've been listening to Shine On You Crazy Diamond, another epic that deserves to be listened to in a stadium, but lacking that, serious surround sound or headphones! Anyway here is the opening, you need to be patient to get to the lyrics but it's all awesome, and I am dedicating this to Nicolas.
Oh good call, Lula! 'Shine on You Crazy Diamond' is glorious and a occupied a strange, transportative part of my childhood, along with the rest of 'Wish You Were Here' and 'Dark Side'. I got into 'The Wall' much later, since my dad doesn't like 'Animals' or anything after, which is a shame I think, because while often muscular and difficult, both albums contain moments of sonic brilliance and some sterling (sometimes because compassionate, sometimes because dispassionate) lyrics. "Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn...?" Roger Waters must have been in a dark place when he wrote much of that album.
Oh,White Fay, thank you for posting tht video!! The little fangirl me is squealing with joy! I would have died and gone to heaven if I had seen that video in 1968. Did you see Paul, I loved him so much!!! I still do, actually. And all of them there, with their girlfriends/wives, oh my. I wanted to be Jane Asher so badly! lol. That is a beautiful video, so sweet, I feel quite nostalgic now.
I am still in such a Leonard Cohen mood, I love this man! The power of the voice and his words. This video is so wonderful, if you watch it you will find out the answer to the mysteries of life.
The Tower of Song
Well my friends are gone and my hair is grey I ache in the places where I used to play And I'm crazy for love but I'm not coming on I'm just paying my rent every day Oh in the Tower of Song
I said to Hank Williams: how lonely does it get? Hank Williams hasn't answered yet But I hear him coughing all night long A hundred floors above me In the Tower of Song
I was born like this, I had no choice I was born with the gift of a golden voice And twenty-seven angels from the Great Beyond They tied me to this table right here In the Tower of Song
So you can stick your little pins in that voodoo doll I'm very sorry, baby, doesn't look like me at all I'm standing by the window where the light is strong Ah they don't let a woman kill you Not in the Tower of Song
Now you can say that I've grown bitter but of this you may be sure The rich have got their channels in the bedrooms of the poor And there's a mighty judgment coming, but I may be wrong You see, you hear these funny voices In the Tower of Song
I see you standing on the other side I don't know how the river got so wide I loved you baby, way back when And all the bridges are burning that we might have crossed But I feel so close to everything that we lost We'll never have to lose it again
Now I bid you farewell, I don't know when I'll be back There moving us tomorrow to that tower down the track But you'll be hearing from me baby, long after I'm gone I'll be speaking to you sweetly From a window in the Tower of Song
Yeah my friends are gone and my hair is grey I ache in the places where I used to play And I'm crazy for love but I'm not coming on I'm just paying my rent every day Oh in the Tower of Song
