hey now take your pills and hey now make your breakfast hey now comb your hair and off to work
crash land no illusions no collision no intrusion my imagination run away
i know, i know, i know what I am chasing i know, i know, i know that this is changing me
I am flying on a star into a meteor tonight I am flying on a star, a star, a star I will make it through the day and then the day becomes the night I will make it through the night
ah hey now take the u-bahn five stops, change the station hey now don't forget: the change will save you
hey now count a thousand milion people that's astounding chasing through the city with their stars so bright
i know, i know, i know what I am chasing i know, i know, i know that this is changing me
I am flying on a star into a meteor tonight I am flying on a star, a star, a star I will make it through the day and then the day becomes the night I will make it through the night
Well I don't mind repeating I am not complete I have never been the gifted type
well hey man tell me something are you off to somewhere? do you want to go with me tonight?
I know, I know that this is changing we walk the streets to feel the ground I'm chasing through Berlin
I am flying on a star into a meteor tonight I am flying on a star, a star, a star I will make it through the day and then the day becomes the night I will make it through the night
Last night I went out with a couple of girlfriends for the first time in ages and this song came on the radio. It's been one of my favorites for a decade now....song and movie....
Might as well post some Arcade Fire, they are extremely hot right now, having won Best New Artist at the Grammies, some Brit awards and Best Album The Junos ( our Canadian music awards), and also since Nic seemed intrigued by their name! Here they are at the Junos, they were simply awesome.
Ah Yes! The interviewer mentioned them to Nic in that recent interview!
My favourite Arcade Fire song by about a million miles is this: {especially this version cos I am bit of a Bowie head)
WAKE UP lyrics
Arcade Fire
Somethin' filled up my heart with nothin', someone told me not to cry.
But now that I'm older, my heart's colder, and I can see that it's a lie.
Children wake up, hold your mistake up, before they turn the summer into dust.
If the children don't grow up, our bodies get bigger but our hearts get torn up. We're just a million little gods causin' rain storms turnin' every good thing to rust.
I guess we'll just have to adjust.
With my lightnin' bolts a glowin' I can see where I am goin' to be when the reaper he reaches and touches my hand.
With my lightnin' bolts a glowin' I can see where I am goin’ With my lightnin' bolts a glowin' I can see where I am, go-go, where I am
Niiiiice, oh yeah, that is sweet, Gina, just the kind of blues I love! I always feel like I can dance when I listen to it, sadly the reality in my feet is not what I feel in my soul, lol! I love this guy, thanks for posting these.
This is a new band to me Sprocket, remind me a little of The Smiths? sad song.. beautiful lyrics..You have reminded me of how cathartic music can be. As usual the way you describe things is somehow the most magnificant things about this post.
talking of The Smiths and sad songs.. this comes to mind:
Yeah it is Gina! sometimes music of the saddest degree can be the most cathartic thing for shifting something though. rather than shoving it down deep somewhere to grow... for me!
How about this for an antidote! lol! this has to be my first experience of trance! lol! I remember sitting literally 4 inches away from the tv watching it when i was just a tot, totally into this!!!!
Now it still makes me want to dance like a crazy thing and i woke up with it playing in my head this morning!!
Very good music here, I enjoyed your choices, Sprocket and Lula a lot. And I did enjoy getting a pick me up from Donna! I used to have her album, danced around to it all the time, she was/is definitely some hot stuff!!
Thanks LadyTrue! Ol' Jethro Tull are sounding just wonderous this morning! I had very immersive dreams so something about their rapturous, knotty, fluting revelry in 'Songs From the Wood' is chiming within me deeply. Odd album is as much as it only really gets going about 4 tracks in, but from thereon in remains just about perfect.
