"To be able to do this movie and portray a knight was really like a child's dream come true for me," Nic tells ET. "As a child I used to pretend like I was a knight in the backyard of my home. My father built this beautiful little wooden castle for me, so when I was five, six, seven, eight, nine, I would go in there and really utilize my imagination. I think that's where I developed my imagination, which has served me in my work as an actor."
"There's a lot of terrifying moments in it, and it also isn’t afraid to show the brutality of what happened in those days, in medieval times," says Nic of the film.
"A lot darker than I thought, and a lot more scary," says Claire of seeing the final film. "There is a morbid fascination with [witchcraft], and I think witchcraft, in this day and age, it's the other world that everyone's interested in. ... It's magical, really, and people want to know what went on."
"There's an ancient fear and kind of respect for [witchcraft], that it could exist," agrees Nic, "and we all have, on some level, a little fear of the unknown, and anything that taps into that, anything that is not part of the status quo, anything alternative generally inspires fear and I think it also inspires interest."
You are welcome Lady True! I could personally never tire of hearing Nic talk about the little wooden castle that his Dad built him, it feels like such a homage to his father and I do love it when he waxes lyrical about the imagination..and being a Knight! plus......it gives me the chance to use my fave emoticons
