Sometimes the snow comes down in june sometimes the sun goes 'round the moon I see the passion in your eyes sometimes It's all a big surprise 'cause there was a time when all I did was wish you'd tell me this was love It's not the way I hoped or how I planned but some how it's enough
and now we're standing face to face Isn't this world a crazy place just when I thought our chance had passed you go and save the best for last
all of the nights you came to me when some silly girl had set you free you wondered how you'd make it through I wondered what was wrong with you 'cause how could you give your love to someone else and share your dreams with me sometimes the very thing you're looking for is the one thing you can't see
but now we're standing face to face Isn't this world a crazy place just when I thought our chance had passed you'd go and save the best for last
sometimes the very thing you're looking for is the one thing you can't see sometimes the snow comes down in june sometimes the sun goes 'round the moon just when I thought our chance had passed you'd go and save the best for last you went and saved the best for last
THE STORY:
LEAVING LAS VEGAS, Ben found himself DRIVING ANGRILY out of town. Recently he'd found himself stuck between a ROCK and a hard place, not KNOWING which way to turn. He now found himself thinking that the past few months of his life could only be described as being THE SEASON OF THE "WITCH"...which was the term he had finally given his latest choice in women and since he didn't like to swear, the moniker 'witch' would have to suffice in describing her.
Luckily, the longer Ben drove the calmer he became. His anger was disappating with every mile he raked up on the cars odometer and now he was simply concerned about reaching his destination. "Damn it", he said to himself, "I should have listened to THE WEATHERMAN before storming out of the THE COTTON CLUB, the gentleman's club he had gone to after having a FACE OFF with the afore mentioned witch. Being impulsive and WILD AT HEART as usual, he had stormed out of the club before preparing for his trip back home and now found himself driving thru the type of desert sandstorm that the Najavo WINDTALKERS were known for warning unsuspecting strangers about. Firmly gripping the steering wheel, Ben now found himself with no choice but to keep pointing his car in the direction of the CITY OF ANGELS and bracing himself for what was to come NEXT in his life.
RACING WITH THE MOON, he arrived in LA in record time. During his drive he had plenty of time to do some serious thinking and had finally come to a decision, one that had been haunting him for years and that he knew he had to make. He was about to TRESPASS on a woman's marriage and life. Ever since the love of his life, PEGGY SUE, GOT MARRIED, Ben's life had gone into a literal DEADFALL. When he first laid eyes on Peggy he had been MOONSTRUCK! One look into her brown eyes and his heart was GONE IN SIXTY SECONDS. Amazingly to him, Peggy Sue's reaction to him had been exactly the same. What had doomed them is that after some months together, Peggy had started to push hard to make him into A FAMILY MAN and he had run. Fast.
Back then, Ben rationalized to himself that he simply wasn't ready for that kind of commitment but now he knew without a shadow of a doubt that he was and that he had to win back her love. Exactly how he was going to do it, he had no clue. All he knew is that he had to try or as far as he was concerned, the powers that be could be BRINGING OUT THE DEAD with his literal body. Enough was enough! He had to know where he stood with Peggy Sue! They had stayed in touch over the years and had remained good friends. But now Ben knew, being friends really wasn't what he wanted to be with Peggy Sue. It never had been and Damn it! Come hell or highwater, he was either going to win big while throwing the figurative dice of life or he was going to throw SNAKE EYES and walk away alone and lonely for the rest of his life.
Exhausted after hours and hours of straight driving, Ben finally drove up to Peggy Sue's place. He really didn't know what to expect. Maybe she'd be happy to see him. Maybe she'd tell him in that blunt way of hers to kiss ass. Hers! Or she'd KICK ASS. His! Whichever it was to be, there was no turning back now. Ben got out of his car, walked up to her door and rang the doorbell labeled "THE CROODS". Moments later, the door flew open and with one look at him, Peggy Sue threw herself into his arms with what can only be described as G-FORCE. Falling backwards together, Ben knew without a doubt that this was the woman he wanted to be TRAPPED IN PARADISE with for the rest of his life.
Boldly, Ben said the words Peggy Sue had so longed to hear for years. "I love you, Peggy Sue. I always have. Tell me we can make it together"
With tears in her eyes, Peggy Sue responded "Ben! I've been waiting so long for you to figure this out. To come back to me. My marriage to Sonny Crood never stood a chance. Honestly, my love for you was the KISS OF DEATH on that relationship. Please, don't ever leave me again!" Ben, holding on tight for dear life, passionately answered back with a kiss andvowed to never, ever leave her side again. And they lived happily ever after.
Hey! Don't laugh. IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU !
The End.

Thanks Lady True. The entire story was built around the movie titles. I then had to wrack my brains trying to figure out a song to go with it! That was the hardest part of all.

Thanks Crazy. Glad you enjoyed the story! Doing this kind of thing was always fun to me. I remember in a High School Creative Writing class being given a list of 50 words I had to write into a story. I just loved that exercise!

This time, This place Misused, Mistakes Too long, Too late Who was I to make you wait Just one chance Just one breath Just in case there's just one left 'Cause you know, you know, you know
[CHORUS] That I love you I have loved you all along And I miss you Been far away for far too long I keep dreaming you'll be with me and you'll never go Stop breathing if I don't see you anymore
On my knees, I'll ask Last chance for one last dance 'Cause with you, I'd withstand All of hell to hold your hand I'd give it all I'd give for us Give anything but I won't give up 'Cause you know, you know, you know
[CHORUS]
So far away Been far away for far too long So far away Been far away for far too long But you know, you know, you know
I wanted I wanted you to stay 'Cause I needed I need to hear you say That I love you I have loved you all along And I forgive you For being away for far too long So keep breathing 'Cause I'm not leaving you anymore Believe it Hold on to me and, never let me go Keep breathing 'Cause I'm not leaving you anymore Believe it Hold on to me and, never let me go Keep breathing Hold on to me and, never let me go Keep breathing Hold on to me and, never let me go

Thanks Lady A. I just counted how many movie titles I used in that story and I think it was 27. Geez....that's only like HALF of Nic's movies.......Maybe I can try to continue the story and add on some of the rest......LOL

Hey, Hey! I love it! A happy ending is just perfect. (I hope this much for Nic himself.)
You really pulled them all together and set a mood...kind of reminded me of this song --oceans apart, day after day...I slowly go insane...wherever you go, whatever you do, I will be right here waiting for you :) Happy Valentine's Day Nic.
I digress.
What I cannot believe Ms. Fay is you told the story without any sex, drugs or rock-n-roll! I knew you could do it~ The real question is, are you satisfied with it, or would you have preferred an alternate ending-- like Peggy Sue Kicks his ass? LOL
LOL! Yes, I am very happy with the way the story turned out. I'm not a proponent of physical violence so I wouldn't want Peggy Sue to KICK anyone's ass. LOL!
Oh...and the song you said fits? believe that's the Richard Marx song Voodoo Child posted.
Anyhooo....glad you enjoyed it ZooKeeper. You asked me to write a story. I did....For YOU!
