This is really gorgeous, Lula! it must have been fun making it, I love it! Did you use the ratings from the our posts here? So, left to right for passion is from 0 to 10? And bottom to top for romance?
It's really nicely done, what a wonderful Valentine's gift for the forum
Romance and passion a la Nic, who could ask for more?
Glad you like it Lady Trueheart and Cristina! I did have so much fun making it..and after a whiie I stopped worrying about being too exact where to put things...many overlapped but had to be put somwhere, so take it with a pinch of salt!
I know for example that you didn't feel Wild At Heart or Leaving las Vegas deserved such a high romance rating, but I did take on board the view that City Of Angels is the hottest, where i probably would have put that at high romance and lower hotness! did you see i also added that litttle bit of romance from Matchstick Men? Just for you!Lady True!!
So.......what would you change on the romance gage everyone? is there a movie you feel is totally in the wrong place?? any more movies you would add? enquiring minds wanna know!!
Voodoo Child, each movie is rated for both ROMANCE and PASSION
the vertical arrow is least romantic to most romantic, bottom to top.
the horizontal arrow is least passionate to most passionate left to right!
So Con Air is one of the most romantic but least hot and passioniate!
Next was hard to place, as i said, many had to just be put somewhere.... the lower left hand corner was most difficult as many could go in the same spot!
So howdo you all judge the romane and passion level of a movie? for me it was thinking of certain scenes or moments for some movies, and the whole vibe of the movie for others!
Hello Wyvern! You are wlcome, I really enjoyed making it! I know you are a Family Man fan, you agree with it's position? has to have a bit of passion ..i am thinking chocolate cake... and it is very high on the romance scale!
Yup, it has some passion there... you're right about the chocolate cake scene, but I was thinking about Jack's (secret) admiration for Evelyn & his flirting with Mrs. Peterson when first looking at your scale, LOL!!
So how do you all judge the romance and passion level of a movie? for me it was thinking of certain scenes or moments for some movies, and the whole vibe of the movie for others!
I guess for me it is the way the movie makes you feel while you are watching it, and how you feel when you think about it afterwards. So, for everyone, it is going to be different. I am probably one of few who gets a romantic feeling when I think of Con-Air! lol! But it is interesting to see which ones people choose and how they rate them, isn't it? Moonstruck usually gets on any lists of most romantic movies.
Having recently watched some clips from 'Next' over and over again I feel I was very wrong in giving it only a three for romance! What was I thinking! The way he looks at her in the restaurant and later when she comes out of the shower is seriously romantic. When he kind of sighs and just stares at her, wow, I love it. So I am now giving it a 6, still not feeling any chemistry, but am feeling the NICaliciousness of him.
But I hate the way they wrote it, she comes out all wet and wrapped in a skimpy towel with that body, sees him staring and says 'What?' Please.
LOL! over and over again huh Lady True! Yes, NEXT has all the right ingrediants for the romantic movie, the scene you mention particularly is made by Nic's performance and how he emotes with the subtlest of gleams behind the eyes and facial exprression..his energy is congruent , but there is something about Jessica Biel's character..as if the energy isn't matched behind the words in the same way.. I don't know what i mean by that and it is only a subtle thing. you have concretized that for me now, with your observation!
Goig back a couple of comments, I totally agree about the romance in Con Air! It is at the top of the romance arrow in the diagram! I am thinking perhaps i should have done the romance on the horizonal and the passion on the vertical...just to clarify..the ones along the top row are the most romantic, the ones down the far right column most passionate!
Interesting that your rating is based on your overall impresion and feeling of the movie Lady True, thank you for sharing that! For me it is mainly the same...perhaps a combination of that essence of the movie.. the perfume that you are filled with and is left lingering in the air..but also it can be just about a particular moment.. a specific scene...or just about the shininess of Nic's own performance and how much I swoon...And well...the level of hotness should be measured on some kind of hornometer!! lol!
Well it may be, Lula, because Jessica Biel is not a particularly good actor, my opinion, of course. But I am not sure if that is always what makes chemistry, there seems to be some spark missing there anyway. I don't find Eva Mendes to be a particularly good actor either but I feel a definite chemistry between Eva and Nic in BL. Might be interesting to rate the levels of chemistry between Nic and his various co-stars, female ones, of course. Thinking about it now, I bet Lula would be way up there!
Lula wrote...the perfume that you are filled with and is left lingering in the air...good line, I like it.
I'm surprised you don't have Wild At Heart and Valley Girl in the top row for romance, actually, Lula, now that I think of it.
Yes, they do deserve top row placement lady True! I tried to take on board what was said though about City Of Angels and Moonstruck seems to be the one that always gets the mention i the romance stakes! I also tried to take on board what you said about Wild At Heart being more about lust than romance..so I put it one notch lower. But if I were to begin again from totally my own perspective they would def appear on the top row! as would Leaving Las Vegas..those two fims to me represent the highest form of romantic /undconditional love. Lol, really what was needed was a far longer top row!!!
I have not seen any other Jessica B movies so I don't feel in a position to judge her as an actor, I thought she was great in NEXT, i just felt in tems of the romance I wanted the brightness / the inner light tweaked up a notch kind of like the way you can adjust the contrast on the tv, to give the feeling and energy more presence! We will have to agree to differ on Eva Mendes, loved her in Ghost Rider AND bad Lieutenant!
One thing is clear though from this exercise......we are due a romantic Nic movie!
I love this Lula. Very good and I agree with everyone here about the movies mention on the poster. I love the way it is now. Yes, some can change a little but we do think of scenes in some movies as just being passion (hot) or just romance. I put Zandalee as very HOT HOT! like where you got it. Wild at Heart I put there too besides in romance too. This is a very good Valentines treat for us fans of Nick Cage here on the forum. Thanks.
