LOL! I am going to be uncustomarily outspoken here, but omg not sure what to make of that! an award for going viral is cool, but if you're gonna mention the internet mention the FANS !! starry

Good to know Nic has not written off the internet forever, he's got alot of fans out here!! if he turned his back on the virtusl world entirely, it could be considered as a fingers up to that! I want to be very clear on this though,,,that is NOT because we as fans have any expectations of him or want anythng from him (this fan doesn't anyway) and this forum is for the fans, but a public statement that he is leaving the net would leave me feeling disheartened about having an onlline presence honoring his work. it's like dismissing the internet entirely. just my point of view, no offense to anyone elses.

LOL!! Did you get the feeling Nic doesn't know what going viral means! I like the way he goes along with this stuff too, so cool of him.  Amber was laughing at him, cute.

Well, I think it kind of is implied about the fans in that he is referring to Nic's on-line presence, which is so huge because of fans who want to pay homage and love his work and persona so much.

I can see where Nic is coming from about going offline, all the crap that gets put out there must be disheartening too, and sometimes you need a break, especially as it is so easy to let using the 'net smile take over all your free time.

Yes! I think that might be the case Lady True, viral does sound a bit like virtual, so maybe he thought it was that?hug poor Nic he didn't look too comfortable. I thought it was an original interview, though.
I do agree with you about how hideous it would be for Nic to see a lot of the crap out there. I have to stay away from twitter myself for the same reason sometimes. But hter is also a lot of amazing stuff! I was not so much commenting on his not wanting to view things, more that a public statement could come across as vey anti internet in general! Besides, he just needs to know where to go to find his true fans, right? wink.gif

while we are on this subject, it has alway struck me that the way most stars can take control over their internet presense is to have an official one, (not run by the atar themselves but their people) it does seem to prevent rumours and keeps putting stuff into the stream that is productive and positive. a recent example of that for me waa with all the rumouring around Ghost Rider, Neveldine and Taylor only had to write a couple of sentence tweets to set the record straight (on when the movie wrapped). starry

You know....he looked a little discombobulated in the beginning, probably having a good idea of what the guy was going to be doing, but....as usual he handled it in his usual GRACIOUS way.

I think the best and easiest and most obvious thing for Nic to do to take control of his iternet 'presence' would be to OFFICIALLY give his stamp of approval to THIS site!
