Looking forward to Medallion since these neat pics remind me of 8mm.....which is IMHO, Nic's darkest and most underrated films. I hope the ending of Medallion matches that of 8mm in that it has three climaxes in a row. Love ya Nic and hope life gets better.
You are welcome, guys, I agree Nic looks great, and young too. Cannot wait for this one! These kind of movies are ususally really intense and Nic is so good at intensity.
clc, I have yet to see 8 mm, I look forward to it even more now. Three climaxes in a row, wow, that is always a good thing.
Hey guys, do you all think the lady in front of him in one of those pics is his daughter in the movie? I am just assuming that could be the case. Lady True, I think you will enjoy 8mm cause' it is dark and has a great cast w/ James Gandolfini, Peter Stormare and Juaquin Phoenix. I know it's off topic but I get the same vibe with Medallion. Cant wait for more pics and filming news.
I wondered the same thing CLC. From the back she looks like the young actress who plays Bridgett Moynihan's daughter in the US TV series "BLUE BLOODS".

Interesting line of thought clc... it definitely is giving off a different vibe than Nic and Simon West's previous collaboration! I agree with you about 8MM, I think that film and Bringing Out The Dead are on a par for me for being highly undersung brilliant movies with dark tones.
I am very intrigued about the bag and the brown package...
That's a good close-up, tess, thanks! I believe they are filming there, Voodoo child.
Plot theory: he just got out of jail, hence the tote bag, and he has a stuffed toy to give his daughter, but he gets a ransom note (paper in his hand), and now he is talking to people to try and find out what happened. Good as any, plus we already now he is an ex-con with a kidnapped daughter.

I think the bag Nicolas is holding could contain either supplies for bank robbing or a specific amount of ransom money. From what I have read about the plot, Simon West said that Nicolas' character has to come up with 10 million dollars in ransom money to get his daughter back and rob a bank in order to come up with the right amount of money.
Just went back to an older thread and read this from the director.
"Nic Cage is a bank robber who is released on Fat Tuesday and goes to see his daughter who he hasn't seen for eight years, so she doesn't know him," West said, describing the "Medallion" plot. "Unfortunately, she gets kidnapped that day by one of his old bank-robbing partners, because his old partner thinks he's still got $10 million stashed away from a previous bank robbery. And he's got to try to find his daughter in the mayhem of Fat Tuesday."
Makes sense your way too, clc. We will probably find out we are both wrong! I think now after looking at IMBd that the girl in the pic may play his daughter. The actress' name is Sami Gayle and her name in the movie is Alison. ...now why am I thinking of Matchstick Men?
