I figured this must already be in our Nic Movie music room, but could not find it! apologies if i missed it, but let's face it you could never see or hear this too many times!
Nic as Jack Campbell singing La Donna e mobile in The Family Man!
and here is a question for you all my Nicster friends......in what other Nic film does this operatic song 'La donna e mobile' ( "Woman is fickle" ) from Verdi's opera 'Rigoletto' appear?
it is a tricky one. but a big clue: the answer can be found somewhere else on the forum!!!
LOL! Lula, I did post it before here! And, thank you for posting it again, so I could enjoy this fantastic scene all over again! Remember the thread on favourite opening scenes, this is one of mine for sure!
I believe that the song is also used in Honeymoon in Vegas, isn't it?
whoops! my sincere apologies Lady T! I looked through them all and thought the bomp bomp bomp thread was Nic and Jim Carrey!
I didn't realise this was the first scene in The Family Man! Clearly need to watch the film again, without delay
You are right it is in Honeymoon In Vegas! but it appears in a far vaguer way, you can hear it playing over the phone when Jack Singer is speaking to his dentist! (wish I could find a clip of that scene! ) I have always thought it was curious choice of song for Famly Man, but makes sense in Honeymoon In Vegas where 'Woman Is Fickle' was definitely on Jack's mind!
Aw, you are welcome Lady Grace, I guess this would be the way to start your day right? watching from the bed of course!!
Wow Lula. Thanks for the wonderful fantasy that brought to me this morning!! "Watching from the bed" as Nic gets dressed in the mornings!! Sigh... Smile...
but the question is.....which Jack in the movie would you rather wake up to? the emotionally numbed in denial wallstreet Jack or the tousled hair half asleep Family Man Jack? hmmm... both .....
What a treat! Yummy! I love that scene at the beginning from Family man! Well, I remember, the song appears also a few times in "Captain Corelli`s Mandolin". For example on the beach, when they all are in the water, and after that, on the way home, they also sing it! Thank you, Lula, for posting it! :)

Here is the singing from Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Lady R. I can't find a clip of the actual scene though. Time to watch this again soon, I love Nic in this romantic role.
