I am more sure on twitter than Facebook as we have more of a presence there. I hope you don't mind my adding that here, as I am sure alot of our other visitors and members will be interested!
As far as we are aware Nic has no official page on Twitter, and certainly no verified page. When Cagealot Castle began it's life there, we asked Twitter themselves about it, as alot of people were asking us the same question, and they informed us that there is definitely no verified Nicolas Cage twitter account. there are a lot of fake Nics on Twitter, and lots of people on twitter think they are him, which is sad especially as many of them post negative stuff, and advertsing and sometimes just ridiculous things.
Facebook is more of a mystery, up until a few months ago i would have said the same for Facebook, no official page, but we had a member sign up here a few months ago who claimed Nic was on twitter as "Nick Cage". which seemed unlikely to me, as Nic has never been "NicK"! Again on Facebook there are alot of fake Nicolas Cages and I can say with absolute certainty that there is no Nicolas Cage facebook page that he has made officially known.
Yes I have often thought it would be great for Nic to have an official net presence, like a website, but as far as facebook and twitter goes, he is such a busy man and I wonder when he would have the time to update it personally!
However, I bet his tweets would ROCK!!!!!!

It's my understanding from a very good source, that Nic does have a Facebook account. However, for privacy, he is not listed as Nic Cage, or Nick Cage or Nicolas Cage or Nicolas Coppola, so you won't find him!
His wife Alice has a Facebook page. She is listed as Alice K Cage but her page is private.
Nic's son Weston has a Facebook page. He is listed as Weston Cage. Until recently, he has made his page private.
Nic's daughter-in-law, Nikki Williams has a Facebook page. She is listed as Nikki Williams Cage. Her page is open for public viewing.
That's sad, it indeadly would be very cool if he would have facebook/twitter/official website. But at the other part I agree you Lula, he might not have time for that.
The people who fake him, are indeadly very sad. There probably just jeaulous at him ^^.

for the record, I feel Nic has the same right as anyone to have a Facebook for himself and not have the world know about it if he doesn't want them to. So until the day comes when there is an Official 'Nicolas Cage the actor' page somewhere, we maybe should just leave it be!

If I'm not mistaken, Nic has said in the past that, in terms of social media for his fans, he would prefer that others do that. He doesn't mind fan pages, like Cagealot.

No, the only time Nic has publicly commented on a fan page was when he was asked in an AOL interview many many years ago about an official Nicolas Cage website, he said that TONCAS were doing a great job already. TONCAS was the big fansite before Cagefactor days.
Nowadays stars are probably advised to not comment on or visit fanpages, but I am sure his people check them out to make sure there are no crazy stalkers to be concerned about.
I would be really interested in seeing an interview or article where Nic is quoted as talking about fansites or fan pages apart from the TONCAS one! (as opposed to opnion that may have been posted years ago)
I may be wrong, but I will look for what I am thinking of, Lula, although I believe it was a video clip so it may not even be around now. Possibly it is the AOL one you mention, I don't recall. Is that one here?
As far as I recall, the AOL interview was like webchat and the only place there was a record of that was a transcript at Cagefactor, the website, which sadly is no more. In that Nic only said (paraphrasing here) when asked if he was going to start his own official site, he said that TONCAS were already doing a great job.
The only other time he has mentioned his own facebook or twitter presense was in that New Year interview during Season Of The Witch in 106 & Park show that I linked to before in this thread. wher he conforuked he has no twitter account, alluded to a possible facebook account but that he was not online any more and was coming offline as his new year resolution.
Imay be wrong but I have never read anything else that Nic himself has publicly stated about fansites and as I said before is proably advised not anyway!
fansites are by fans, for fans anyway, we know Nic is grateful to all his fans, but the fansites are for us, they are our playground!
