I don't know why, but I'm hoping it will not happen.

Also, I read that the filming begin within two weeks, which is close to the date scheduled for the beginning of the filming of The Frozen Ground.

Yes, here's what the Examiner.com says:

“The Expendables 2” starts filming in Bulgaria at the end of this month, with Simon Cox [(?) West] directing.

i dont think he should be one of the action heros like stallone, but a cameo would be great or what even better were if hes a villain=)

So .....filming has begun on Expendables 2 in Bulgaria, many of the stars have already arrived, with no news either way on Nic's appearance! Here's hoping for a cool cameo role!

which kind of Nic action man would we want to see? A Super Geek like Stanley Goodspeed? Or a white vest wearing Cameron Poe saving the f***ing day? hero or villain? I hope something totally off the wall and completely new but wth elements of bad boy Castor Troy!! chickendance

His reps said no, Nic himself said no offer had been made but he would consider it...but now TNT claim they have an exclusive that Nic will NOT be appearing in Expendables 2!

If you were hoping to see Nicolas Cage and John Travolta filing rank next to Sly, Jason Statham, Jett Li, Dolph Lundgren & Co, prepare to be disappointed. Despite attempts, sources tell TMT neither Cage nor Travolta will participate thus depriving the world of that Face/Off reunion. A deal for the former couldn't be worked out and word is Travolta "just didn't go for it."

Fully agree Flo, I wasn't keen on the idea of him in the movie initially, but the thought of a cool Cage cameo did appeal. I have no doubt Expendables 2 would have been fanastNIC with him in it! starry

I saw Expendables 2 recently, it was amusing in parts and the fight scenes were pretty good, especially Sly and Jean Claudes' climatic fight.  The best parts were Jean Claude, he was great as a villain,  and Chuck Norris's entrance, the whole theatre laughed then. The script was just as bad as the first one, in my opinion.
