That was interesting, Lula. I enjoyed seeing the clips and then really noticing how he applied the music, love the music too. He has an amazing body of work! Wow, what a creative he must be. I see he has done other Nic movies, Matchstick Men and The Rock.
Yes, he is a real veteran, master of the soundtrack! the creation of the music really is a collaboration, and to not be tempted to have your creation centre stage, rather for it to be complementary, takes real skill and musicality.
I like it both ways actually, i enjoy films where the music is led by the film and those where the film appears to be led by the music, when a song (often an existing song rather than a score cmposed specifically for the film) is so powerful inthat moment it shines. trying to think of examples. i will come back to it
Lula, what an excellent find!!! Hans Zimmer is an amazing Composer. In looking at this history, he's scored music for "The Rock" as well. Oh, and all of these movies:
Rain Man, Black Rain, Thelma & Louise, Backdraft, The Lion King, Crimson Tide, Broken Arrow, The Peacemaker, The Prince of Egypt, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Batman Begins, Pirates of the Carribbean:At World’s End, The Dark Knight, Sherlock Holmes (2009), Inception, Megamind, Rango, Pirates of the Carribbean:On Stranger Tides, and Kung Fu Panda 2.
