That would be awesome Lady T!!!  I'm sure it's in Southern California though, and I'm in Northern California, quite a ways away.  However, it's airing on the SPIKE network and i've checked my stations and I actually get that channel so i'll be watching and letting the Castle no the details as it goes down live!

Heads up! Even though the SCREAM Awards will take place on Saturday, October 15th, it won't be airing on SPIKE television on Tuesday, October 18th. Ooooh, maybe they'll have pictures posted on their website, or somewhere, prior to it airing on Tuesday? That'll be cool!

Nicolas Cage received the Maverick Award at the 2011 SCREAM Awards at 21.21 October 15th 2011, to a standing ovation. The award was presented by Quentin Tarantino! (why have these 2 never worked together before, seems like a match made in heaven!)

Gina's report....

Okay... If you are a fan of entertainment in general, you've got to see the SCREAM awards!!  OMG!!!  I have NEVER seen an award show quite like this one!  This award show rocked!!  The ENTIRE audience was dressed in halloween costumes which rocked!! So energetic, lots of AMAZING special effects!!!!  Prior to Nic receiving his award, they kept showing clips of Nic, in what looked like arrival shots outside.  He was so damn CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know we are ALL about NIC CAGE though I've got to give up some honorable mention love to the following:

ROBERT DOWNEY JR. - He rocked!!!  When they announced his name for the HERO AWARD, he actually danced to the music as he was coming down the stairs toward the mic!!!  What a great sport!!  They all held up "HERO" signs for Robert Downey.  He also premiered a clip of the new Sherlock Holmes movie.  AWESOME!!!

DARTH VADER wins the ULTIMATE VILLIAN AWARD but creator George Lucas greets Darth Vader and presents the award to him - Very cool!!!

And even though this is an American show, CONGRATS going out to DOCTOR WHO, actor MATT SMITH!!!  He said:  "SCREAM AWARDS, be there or be square."  And he holds up the peace sign - rapster style!!! He won for BEST SCI-FI ACTOR!!! I love BBC AMERICA!!!!

QUENTIN TARANTINO DID AN AMAZING JOB PRESENTING NIC WITH THE MAVERICK AWARD!!  THE "Q' IS THE BOMB!!  Nic isn't just a Maverick, the "Q" said: "NICOLAS CAGE IS A MOTHER FUC*ING MAVERICK!!!"  rolllaughrolllaughLOL!!!!!!!!!! Classic Tarantino!!!!!!  The "Q" also said: "Nic didn't eat one cockroach, not two cockroaches but, THREE!!"  When Nic came on he clarified that he really didn't want to eat the three cockroaches.  Nic thought that the director didn't like him that day and made him do two more takes of the cockroach eating scene. LOL!!! Oh Yes, and Nic presented a small clip from "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance."

Agree with everything Gina said, and the set was really amazing too! Nic was great, and the clip from GR was very cool, hopefully it will all be available on you tube soon. The show was lots of fun to watch.

Thank you Lady T, flowerface yes I did see this, but without the sound it is kind of even more frustrating!

You know, I am not fond of when people moan about stuff, but isn't it about time that things like this are available internationally? I thought perhaps Spike tv would realise that there is an internationally interested audience, there are movie fans all over the world! even if the clips on their site made available afterwards could be viewed by other countries. same thing applies to all US tv shows, the films themselves *cough. Trespass* .... lol, rant over!

You are so right Lula.  SPIKE should make these things available internationally.  I can tell you that Nic's speech was extremely short.  He spoke of the cock roach thing which I mentioned in my previous post.  He thanked Quentin Tarantino and briefly talked about what a great director he was.  He said he was also very honored to be at the AWARDS ceremony and to have received the award.  And then he introduced the Ghost Rider Footage.  It was very, very short.  Actually, I think he spent more time walking  down those stairs and quietly thanking the crowd by bowing his head and waving to the crowd, than he did actually speaking.  It was very brief.
