I hesitated to post this because there is no sound, it has been set to the movie soundtrack..but this is Wild At Heart footage I have never seen before and is so worth the watch!
I remember seeing this dancing scene some time ago, but it was gone when I went looking for it later. That was before I had seen the movie. I don't think it is the same video though, pretty sure the one I saw had sound. It is very creepy with that soundtrack music playing, isn't it? And I remember thinking I wasn't sure if I ever wanted to watch that movie after seeing the clip! Cool find Lula.
You are all welcome, glad we all got to see it before it is taken down. I hope and pray that David Lynch one day rereleases the Wild at heart dvd and blu-ray with the deleted and extended scenes, because The David Lynch Lime Green Set. from where this probably came, is out of my reach and has been on my Christmas list since 2008 when it came out!
Lady Trueheart, for me, this extended scene and the other deleted scene i posted a while back, adds a layer to sailor's character, and Lula and Sailor's relationship, that is largely missing from the movie, there is ambiguity and tension here, Sailor suddenly becomes more complex and that seems in my view to be where Nic as an actor shines beyond shining..so I am sad it didn't make it into the movie.
It does seem a shame that they were deleted, Lula, I agree it adds to the complexity of their characters. Oddly, to me, in that weird and surreal landscape that Lynch created there lies a lot of truth as to relationships, the layers of meaning and uncertainty, and the things that will never be known, only wondered at. I think of two scenes in the movie, the scene near the first with Marietta and Sailor, and the scene with Lula and Bobby Peru. Both seem to hint at aspects of Sailor and lula that went mostly unexplored.
Absolutely, and so beautifully put Lady Trueheart. in the books from which the film sript was adapted by David Lynch, there is a far more noirish unresolved feel, and perhaps the final cut was pared down along the same lines, to make the movie more pallatable and neat for the audience. I do not know, I just feel for my tastes I am loving that deeper multidimensionality we see here, and it seems particulary Lynchian!
Whoop! you are welcome! It is such an awesome treat isn't it Lady Arwen!!
Lol! yes, my username is a bit of a giveaway!
Wild At Heart is not an 'easy' film by any means, but it is so bizarrely magical and creative and richly textured...these words do not do it justice...the film is an indelible experience ..this deleted scene adds yet another dimension to what is already a gloriously multifaceted love story. ~~
Yes, indeed, Lula! And, yes, it isn`t an easy film, but David Lynch did such a great job, aswell as Nic and the rest of the cast! SurrealistNIC, but AWESOME!
