8mm is good to, I was doubting between season of the witch, 8mm and ghost rider but I picked season of the witch becouse I had more the shock-effect in it :)

Wicker Man had some scenes that made me jump, and 8 MM is horrifying, but Wild at Heart had quite a few scenes that made me cringe with revulsion, so I will go with that one.
Hi tess, eva, flo, Lady T and Lady A! Thanks for voting!
I was not sure whether to add Deadfall (that has some scary moments and also just realised I did not include knowing. The apocalyptic theme in that movie was incredibly scary for me, and a profound kind of existential pain stayed with me for a long time afterwards.
For me it is a toss up between Vampire's Kiss, 8MM and Wild At Heart. Vampire's Kiss is scary not because of the vampire theme but because of the depth of disturbance of Peter Loew, he did some horrfic things in teh moive, but because the darkness was tempered with comedy (not an easy thing to pull off but they did superbly) I did not choose it. I agree with You Lady Arwen, 8MM may be the darkest by a touch, but Wild At Heart has some outright horrific moments, so I too went with that in the end Lady Trueheart.
Woah, just realised that thinking about the scariness of all these is quite a powerful thing..so here is a dancing beast to take the edge off the darkness!
Hmm, yes, forgot about Knowing, it had some moments that were so suspenseful it was almost unbearable. And the theme also, like a nightmare that is real.
I'm a bit surprised to see wild at heart there, it wasn't scary to me. But it seems like I'm the only one who picked season of the witch so maybe people think the same of my choice for that ^^

Vampire's Kiss...all those Peter's movements, face expressions and deeds,it's genius, but at times it's all really scary, and I found the ending quite horrifying, too. I haven't seen either 8mm or Trespass yet unfortunately,so cannot comment on them.
How wonderful it is tht we all experience them differently eva! But I definitely found Wild at Heart more scary and disturbing than Season Of The Witch...and i think the rating of the movei reflects the level of horrific stuff in WAH.
Voodoo child great to see you, thanks for voting, I am glad someone went for the genius film that is Vampire's Kiss, it is a fave movie of mine and I did find it very disturbing, more for the psychological tragedy of Peter Loew..but because it has that epNIC mixture of utter darkness and brillliant humour, and because Nic did not play it "straight" or one dimensionally seriously, for me the intensity of the disturbance was somehow less scary. take that humour and flavour away though and you are left with one pure disturbing piece of cinema.
Lol, Oh yes you must watch Wild at Heart again anyway Gina! I guess what we find scary is different for aus all, for me it is graphic bloody violence and torture and there are two particular scenes...also the scene with the car accident that is so ..hmm maybe scary is not the right word for it but nevertheless very intense.
By the way, the scariness level of a movie does not for me denote how much I like it or not, as you can guess from my user name I love Wild at Heart, it is amongst my Nicolas Cage top movies!
