So I was looking for a sign as to which Nic flick we could discuss in this week's Cagealot Film Club, having decided we would stick with the earlier Nic film period, I was toying with the idea of 'Valley Girl' or 'Raising Arizona', when I came across this:
Yep, Nicolas Cage and Holly Hunter as H.I and Edwina with their kidnapped baby Nathan Junior from Nic film'Raising Arizona', on the front cover of a Serbian Biology Book!!!!!!!
I am not sure how old this is, or if it has been mentioned before in Nic world, but it strikes me as the sign I was looking for! lol!!
And...I think I may have done better in biology when i was at school if we had books like this...it would have been a laugh from beginning to end!
Isn't it ironic, and in fact a touch sad when taken out of context, that Edwina and H.I could not have their own baby, yet are being used here (one assumes) as the exemplary reproductive couple?
LOL! I saw this, what a hoot! I never had a pic like that on my biology book, I would have remembered that! Though I doubt I looked at my biology book much, now that I come to think of it.
Yes, I remember it. Thank you, Lula, for finding and posting this pics.
Who knows, maybe, the cover from that schoolbook you posted, was similiar to the book from the movie? We may never know! But, it would be a funny thought, don`t you think?

You are welcome Lady Arwen, just a screencap from my dvd!
Yes, i would be very curious to know the exact translation of the book title from the original serbian biology book i posted ! As I said, if it is a general school biology textbook, it would be very ironic choice to place a couple on the front page who are suffering with infertility issues and who actually stole their baby, if it was meant to be an example of 'reproduction'!
We hear from the graphic designer of this book! Apparently, it was an eighth grade biology book from 1998!
Quote:
" A lot of media picked the story up, including Trojka in Serbia and Huffington post abroad. Since a lot of people were interested in how Nicolas Cage and Holly Hunter ended up on the cover, I asked and got the explanation from the graphic designer of the book. She says it was an honest mistake, and I believe her. She also says that they pulled the book from the print as soon as they found out about it, but some books were already printed and delivered, and that was it. ."
Oh! That`s sad, that it was actually a mistake!:( But, there are still a few editions of that book with that cover, so we got the luck to see it! Really great find, Lula! :)

I guess it would have to have been a mistake though Lady Arwen as there is possibly not a more inappropriate couple to put on a biology book cover! Or maybe s(he) is just saying it was a mistake, when in fact they just had the most awesome sense of humour! and, it has now become famous! they should reprint it, I would so buy one!! LOL!!
Yes, indeed! But, I guess, we may never know the real truth behind this mistake! And, I agree, they really should reprint it! It`s really an awesome cover! LOL.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH - Exactly Lula!!!!
Lol, it would be kind of like putting Terence Mcdonagh being promoted to Lieutenent on the cover of a police training manual! or Milton on the front of a driving manual!
