I think I read that Nic had some creative differences with the Coen Bros in this movie, I wonder how he wanted to approach the role that they objected to. It is always interesting to read Nic's thoughts on his approach to a role.
somehow this is one film where i have never wanted to step behind the curtain to know anything about the foundatons or building blocks! don't know why! maybe as it was my first film and i was so engrossed , it rescued me from deonstruction in the lit crit saspect of my eng lit degree!
I love how one of the Coen's work on the Evil Dead obviously informs how they film the "ghost rider"! The camera surging forward really low to the ground.
There is that stretch of film after the baby is home where the gilt starts rubbing off the happy home life, we start seeing Hi's control slipping away.
