According to the Daily Mail, Charlie Sheen is in Columbia to scout for locations for a film that he has asked Nicolas Cage to star in.
No details on the film so far, except that it will be a remake of a classic 1970's movie (any guesses?). Sheen has only described it as "epic", and with this potential combination, I can't help but agree that it would be!
Indeed, Flo, we count on you to nose out all the facts on this one! Personally, I hope Nic does not do a movie with him, because I think he is a bad association. But that is just my opinion, I can understand why some would think this an exciting idea.
I agree with you, Lady T. And, for the fact, that we actually don`t know, what this movie would be about, I hope, that Nic consider his decision well, if he participates in it or not! Well, that`s what I think about it.

Any movie with Nic is an exciting prospect, and honestly, I withhold judgement about Charlie Sheen, I do think there would be some exciting creative chemistry, but I am not sure what this article entirely means, that Charlie sheen will be producing the movie? or starring?
My only concern really is that it is a remake, there are so many untapped creative avenues out there, why reinvent anything? why not create something new! wonder who would direct? any ideas on what the 70's movie remake might be ( or what you would like it to be! )
I think Nic and Charlie should put their heads together and brainstorm about a entirely new and fresh project. I am tired of remakes and wish Hollywood could come up with new concepts and ideas. Nic and Charlie are smart men and could help each others careers by doing something off the wall crazy and prove neither has lost a step. That is my two cents anyway....CLC.
I am inclined to agree about remakes. Not that I am against them, per se, and I think often the objections to them are subjective, because people tend to get very attached to their favourite movies and resent any attempts to make a 'better' or 'different' version. I have been known to feel like that myself .
But it does seem as if every other movie these days is a remake, or derived from a tv show. I like the idea of something new and original too.
Nicolas and Charlie were both in Deadfall but it was more a bit part for Charlie since he wasn't a main cog in the story. It is no secret that they are best pals and really close but I think that it would be a smart move on their part doing a film together. Charlie is at his peak by going off the handle with the "Tiger Blood" and "Winning" comments and lets face it: We all love Nic on these boards but his career could use a jolt and pairing up with Sheen could do him wonders. Agree or disagree.....Nic would benefit greatly negative or posative from this in my view. CLC
It looks like we are all in agreement then, clc and Lady Trueheart! As much as many classic movies deserve to be reincarnated, maybe they should be as themselves, not as a remake!
I find it hard to believe there are not tons of script writers creatng new and exciting things every day, and if not, I know we could come up with something, lol!
Still not entirely sure if this mean Charlie sheen producing or starring? i read it as the former? or maybe both? I would persoanlly find it compelling to see Nic and Charlie Sheen act together, especially if it was all out there, imagine that! maybe they should play on the media peceptons of them and do an ironic satire parody of themselves!
clc, it is a bit of a stretch to say "it is no secret they are best pals and really close", sounds ike reportage to me! they were acquaintances in the past, but who knows now, and why should we know for that matter!
Well actually, Charlie was doing his comedy tour last year when he was fired from Two and a Half Men, when he stated during a show that he and Nic were bestfriends and hung out quite a bit in the past and are still close. I believe him but know that Nic is a private guy so he doesnt endulge in who he hangs out with. I like your idea abouta film of a parody on the media and their respective careers would make a neat concept and truly off the wall. clc
I was getting very excited about Nic appearing on Broadway in 'One Flew Over A Cuckoo's Nest', and I suggested another fave 70's film of mine, 'Midnight Express', would be a great film for Nic to remake! either of those films remade would be exciting to me...and there are a few other classic 70's movies. LOL, so...call me Little Miss Contrary!
I do think they would be good together, but the assosiation between them maybe isn't so good. In here, in the gossip magazines was once a big article about Nic, it was totled: Nicolas Cage goes Charlie Sheen> From star to bugaboo (I hope it is translated right.) And the things they wrote were just horrible lies, becouse I know the stories and you know gossips they were all overacted and they blew everything up and I think they should be ashamed of thereselves for making such an article. So, at the one side I am excited for this but scared bad assosiations will be made.
