Ok, so when we first saw the New Ghost Rider Spirit Of Vengeance Images, with Nic's scary appearance in some of the transformation shots, it hit me, they remind me, alot, of the master of all transformation Lon Chaney, and his scary Phantom Of The Opera nose appearance (which incidently he did himself by pulling it up with string)
but thought people would find me completely crazy..... Today, I don't care and am going to share!
Is this wishful thinking and hallucination on my part...or is anyone else seeing it?
You can certainly see it, Lula, especially in the first picture, I think. I wonder if Nic had imput into that look, as he has said before that he subscribes to that school of acting!
“I subscribe to the Lon Chaney school of acting, senior, not junior,” he said. “And historically, film actors and stage actors have always experimented with new looks. And because I do make quite a few movies, I like to keep changing it up and transforming myself. That’s part of the fun of it.”
Phew..... not completely mad then, thanks for responding Lady Trueheart!
it is certainly an amazing and scary look isn't! The nose is where I am seeing the wink to Lon Chaney! who did all his own make up, he even had a replica head so he could practice a certain look better than in the mirror... it must have been painful wiring his nose up like that!
How exciting for an actor like Nic, who likes to experiment with his look, to play a character who actully does completely transform as part if his character, and of course Nic gets to play both JB and the Ghost Rider in this movie
It would be NICe to think that Nic had a say in the look of this part of the transformation shown in these shots, and pure fantasy on my part ia m sure but fun to think there is actually this Lon Chaney connection!
more quotes from Nic on Lon Chaney:
“Much has been said about how I always like to reinvent my look…or my hair. That just makes me want to do it even more,”
“My favourite actor is Lon Chaney. It was back in the day when film stars did their own hair and make-up. So, if I can change my hair, or the way I look, dress or talk, that’s my way of harking back to what I hope would be like a Lon Chaney experience.”
I must emphasize, the comaparison I was making when I began the topic was only between that actual shot, that moment, in GR:SOV, with the mid transforming no nose skull thing and that actual moment in Lon Chaney's career as the Phantom..and that they are both masters of transformation of course!!
