I really don't like to be a sympathy glutton, but you guys are the nicest on the internet and I think I need a hug. Jay (-Anna) and I have broken up, due to the strains of being in a long-distance relationship and my generally down state of being over the last year. I think it makes sense and genuinely reckon we'll remain friends in the long term as we're not grudge holding types and it's been a slow, not sudden thing. I've stayed friends with my ex-girlfriend Helena for years so I know it can be done. :)
I am terribly sorry, Sprocket, that is such a sad place to be in. I have been there, and I am not going to say a bunch of platitudes. But if you want to talk or just hang out you know we are here, and a magical castle can be a good place to come to when you need cheering, right? Not trying to be flippant really, but just want you to know I will be thinking of you. You're a good guy, Sprocket, you are so funny and talented and smart, I always enjoy your posts and great outlook here, so please come and visit anytime you need to.
I am so sorry to hear your news, I know you and Anna have been together for a long time, it must be extra painful when you are far away from home. As Meg said I hope you feel able to come and hang out with us here, when the sands are shifting or you feel like you are falling through space.. strangely this virtual land can be a comforting constant, some solid ground. (sorry for all the cliches)
