Heads up UK peeps and anyone else who can tune in to these stations. On the opening day of Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance, Nic is making an appearance on 2 UK radio shows:
Kermode and Mayo's Film Review on BBC Radio 5 Live at 2pm:
I hope you get to listen to them, Lula! Are these live, do you know? if so, I wonder if there will be a London premiere for GR that Nic attends! That would be an exciting change. I am wondering because I know Nic is on Kelly tomorrow am, but I think maybe that was prerecorded.
I always assumed the radio shows are live as they air Lady True, but I guess they could be doing a special segment that was prerecorded! Yes, I will be listening!!
Well me too, and I imagine that is the case here too. I guess I have been assuming that Nic would be in NY for the premiere since he has been doing so much promotional stuff there.
By the way, I believe I will be seeing the movie tomorrow night, I see there is a showing on later in the evening that I can make!
I managed to catch Sir Nicolas on both of these radio shows today!
Radio 5 live was pretty standard questions, except when the interviewer said to Nic that he had lots of fans and had there ever been fan convention? Nic replied that he didnt think there had been and that he would probably be scared to go to one, but then added, he appreciates those who have been his fans for many years and that it would be a privelege to spend some time with them! (i am paraphrasing, hopefully we will get a recording soon!)
Kerrang Radio had a very brief interview, but there were some funny bits where Nic said he tried to make his voice for the new film like David lee Roth, who he did an impression of, then said "scraping at the door, scraping at the door" which you will get when you see the film!!!
"What about Nicolas Cage fans.. do you think any of your fans... you do such a variety from arthouse to thebig action films... do you expect your fans to like all the work ?"
Nic: "I don't have any expectations, all I expect is of myself to try to do the best that I can".
"I imagine that a Nicolas Cage fan convention would be a very interesting place.. "
Nic: [laughs] "I'd be scared to go"
[Everyone laughs]
"Have they ever tried to organise one ?"
Nic: No, not that I know of no, I've not heard of anything quite like that. I'm very thankful for the people who've stayed with me through the years and I appreciate all of them for going to the movies and watching and I would actually be very privileged to spend some time with them.
lol well I think he is scared to go, becouse if I would be in his place I also would be scared if I knew there are so many ladies who would just jump at you
He realy replied nice, and especially that he says he would love to spend some time with his fans!

My brain only works on one power... The power of Nicolas Cage!
Lol! Yes i guess so eva! in my mind though a fan convention is for the fans to all meet up and have a blast, with no expectation for the star to be there. How cool would it be if we had a Cagealot convention some time?
It will be so cool if we have an Cagealot Convention for our Nick Cage some time. So all of his fans here and every where can attend to it and enjoy like a weekend event. As to having Nick present that will be a blast but I doubt he will but if it's organized right so he won't get scare then it will be Awesome! I went to a fan convention of Dr. Who so many years ago in the 80's. Yes, met the one and only Dr. Who we all thought was the best. Tom Baker! What was done was that when Tom came at different times they had a hugh room for him. With many chairs for the fans to come in to. He was on a stage and he gave out answers to us questions about the show and of Tom as Dr. Who. He was so kind and friendly too. He just love it. After that then he stay and met the fans one by one in a long line. (There was a guard or body guard person present then) just to stand by. No one attack him but just was so happy to get a photo taken with Tom and talk to him briefly. He did these photos with his autograph on it when he was in his hotel room. Signed many for us fans to get there too. So it save time for Tom to have us fans to asked questions and meeting him instead of just getting his autograph only. That was done in a good quality thing and was organized good too. I forgot now the name of the company or persons who put this together. But it was just fun and I had many nice memories of that time. So we can do some thing like this for Nick Cage too and have all of us fans to meet in a convention type setting too. They also had rooms with merchandize to sell and every thing about Dr. Who. Even people came dressed up like the characters too. So neat. Everyone was friendly and as fans we all got along fine. Meeting new people who is into the same things. Like us with our own Nick!
I do think it would be great to get together too, but the logistics are mind boggling! No expectations of a Supreme Being attending but still, just to meet with other fans, have a film showing or something, it would be a lot of fun!
the logistics would be a nightmare though, Nic being internationally admired, I know many who would happily buy a plane ticket for it, but not all would be able to manage....and I cannot travel at all right now....so I propose we hold it right here at my place!!!
Has there ever been such a thing as an online convention? not just a movie watching marathon but where there is a weekend of planned online events, incluing movie viewing then discussion and the actor comes online for webchats and onlne events are organised.
Then, the convention would probably be set in London, I suppose! Well, one can dream! But, who knows, Lula? And, an online-convention would also be awesome! :)

Thanks, Lula for sending me to the right link. it's this BBC Radio 5 Live and Kerrang Radio link. I agree with you about having an online-convention for many who can't travel. It's just more fun going to see fans live and maybe the star too if they show up. Tom did. He love them though and he did many here in the USA states. Boston is one state I went to see the convention of Dr. Who. I don't recall the other states now but I think one was in Chicago too. He did some in London as well for the London fans and some USA fans who can travel there. I can only do the USA ones only. Also I was still single and then can do this sort of thing more then. It just has good fond memories for me and many others who were Tom Baker fan at that time. He was very nice with the fans and I had a wonderful time doing those weekend events.
I agree Nancy, the idea of Cage Convention is AWESEOM! but because he is a international star , loved all over the world, not just America and england, it would be very hard to please everyone! as you say, you cannot travel, nor can many others. But maybe there should be one on every continent! a co-ordinated international event!
the more i think about it the more a multi media onlne event seems the way to go..really, you'd need something like a world video link up like they do for things like the olympics..let's face it Nic deserves it!!

I love this idea. Of course it would have to be centered around the release of Nic's latest movie, to even get his publicist to look at the request.
I believe there have been some Nic-related movie events though the idea of utilizing the internet as well as live fans in the theater is quite intriguing.
The event could sort of be like an internet Nicolas Cage movie flash mob!!
Nicolas Cage flash mob! We need to do that in our convention, we can dress as characters from his movies. And suddenly converge somewhere and dance! Which character would you go as? I am thinking of Milton, myself!
